This land
Where birds refuse to twitter
Plants cease to bloom.
Where brothers
Sisters rather
Drive knives
Into ribs of siblings.
This land
Where seasons
Refuse to bring forth
Sun shines
Rains,
Because our land is defiled,
Sacred places desecrated.
This season
In which rulers are not leaders
And good men
Women
On flight to foreign lands.
This season,
Season of poems.
Balm
To broken hearts.
