The American International School of Lagos is currently recruiting a Middle School (8th Grade) Physical Science Teacher.

Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
Use relevant technology to support instruction.
Observe and evaluate students' performance and development.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignment and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
Be accessible to students, providing academic support, active listening, and advocacy, while observing appropriate boundaries.
Attends and participates in staff meetings, school related activities, and committees.
Appropriately communicates and interacts with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work.
Demonstrate s commitment to continuous professional growth and works with administrator to formulate and complete professional development plans.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner.
Maintains a professional appearance, and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.
