There's nothing bad in asking weda someone is d last on queue. Some pple may come book behind d last person & den tell d person dt they want 2 do somtin nearby in a hurry. So if u come asking no question bt only 2 queue up behind ur assumed last person, once d one dt leaves returns they wld tell u dt u shld hv asked who d last person was b4 standing in queue. And ur refusal 2 leave d space may turn u all 2 public nuisance esp if d other person too refused 2 give in.

There is nothing wrong asking "are you the last person"? Just that many Nigerians are too religious they will quickly get annoyed and say "they won't be the last in Jesus name".

Asking are you the last person in the queue is also calling the attention of the people in the queue, we all know how some Nigerians behave, that's when you will see some unknown person from nowhere claiming space.

I think these questions are our Naija made questions, each country has it own stuffs.

Also, when you get to a queue join it at the end. There should be no need to communicate with the last person on the queue beyond a polite 'good day'. Because we are so crooked that we 'keep spaces' for people who are not physically present, this practice of inquiry has become prevalent.

Learn English. It's a globally useful skill.

There is a difference between 'connotation' and 'denotation'. Try to find out what it is.

'How was your night' may or may not have a sexual connotation and allusion apparent to Nigerian speakers.

That is not my focus.

My point is that it is not in standard use as far as the English language is concerned. It reflects a dialect or variant of English spoken only in Nigeria and without wife acceptance outside the country.

Asking 'how did your night go ?' will make your intended meaning clear to any fluent speaker of the language. So there is a difference.
