That's why you should respect officers and men of the armed forces and other security agencies, it's not an easy task staking your lives for the safety of others. The spirit behind those guns is either you kill or get killed. Police is your Friend.

You are searching for kidnappers(militants) with this kind of boats

People wey you dey search dey use 800(or above) horse power engine for one boat and una use dis 'market boat' to go hunt for kidnappers for creek..

Abeg, no follow them go dis kinda waka next time.

Careless waka!!
Thank you my guy. But seriously this not creek it's just a bush. Come to my hood and see creek where rain drops don't touch the ground due to interception by plant leafs.

A journalist with the Nigeria Police Force, Malik Nasir, has revealed his terrifying experience after embarking a mission....

For close to an hour, the team was ferried on Lagos Police Gun Boat from one location to the other until we are joined by more men, who later took fewer journalists to the kidnappers hideouts where about 30 suspects kidnappers had been picked earlier for questioning.

Journalist Malik, now I know the reason your Editor gave you the RRS posting.

After all the billions of naira allocated for security vote, this is all they can come up with. No wonder militants are having filled days in Lagos.

Imagine, mounting machine guns on fishing boat like a rebel. Very ridiculous.

I agree with you. Imagine going on a missioin like this with wooden fishermen canoes and limited life jackets. Where are the Speed Boats? Where are the Gun Boats? The Nigerian security apparatus is a huge joke

D speed boats & gun boats are all in d creeks of niger-delta. Dey left dese small Yoruba militants 2 police.

Olodo, always take time to read and understand before posting trash undecided. They went to a location where 30+ kidnappers were arrested earlier.

When I first saw that pic earlier, it was my opinion that the highly respected CP Fatai Owoseni risked not only his life but that of others.

It was a good thing they were successful. We must applaud them.

However, please anyone who is close to CP Fatai Owoseni should tell him that they took a risky risk.

What if those guys were under the water and overturn the boats and gunboat. Anyone who is familiar with riverine people would confirm that a skilled riverine person can be under water for long time.

What if they sighted the police team ahead and fire missiles from another gunboat?

By the way, the CP's life jacket appears not to be lively.

Instead of embarking on this risky journey, a very sophisticated drone could have done this job better. A careful study of the images taken by the drone would help the security forces to locate the exact location of the criminals, their manpower, weaponry and supply route to enable the police strike team mount a successful surgical operation with minimal casualty on the government side.

Noticeable Problems with these photos and the operation in general.

1. Lack of flotation equipment. - Totally inexcusable.

2. Lack of Bulletproof vests on many of the Officers. - Only a handful have bullet proof vests and helmets on.

3. Lack of Air support. - A helicopter should have been over head giving the ground troops Intel on movements ahead of them.

4. Lack of proper boats. - I see a few fiber boats and canoes but by now the Police in these areas should have hovercrafts to navigate the creeks with more ease. They are all sitting ducks for an ambush.

5. No Radios - So how will they communicate inside that jungle.

6. Improper dressing - Imagine the Police wearing bright coloured reflective jackets entering inside bush to hunt down criminals. Some are wearing that bright blue uniform which also makes them stick out and gives dem no cover.

This is why our security in this country is going nowhere.
