Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth saw the Black Cats drop to the Championship, having won just five of the 34 games they have played Sunderland have been relegated from the Premier League after their 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday. The Black Cats’ drop to the Championship was confirmed with four games left to play, as they sit 13 points behind 17th-placed Hull City. A draw would have been enough to delay the confirmation by at least a week, as they face Hull next week, but an 88th minute goal from Joshua ing David Moyes’ side have won just five of the 34 Premier League matches they have played this season, with the last one coming in February – a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
