The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it has so far registered 1.5 million candidates for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said this on Saturday during pre-JAMB mock examinations. Oloyede said: “So far, it has even been better than our expectation, it was a mock, the intention was to test the technology and it proved to be perfect. “I think from what we are seeing, we are more than ready for the main examination. “At least 90 per cent of the examination centres have reported positively, there have been proper downloading and preparation; even after the exam we had uploaded responses of 80 per cent. “We have done it to show that what works elsewhere across the world should work in Nigeria; we believe we can do it efficiently; we will continue to do our best. “We have registered over 1.5million candidates in less than five weeks; we believe that the reality we have put in place is good enough.’’ Oloyede said that 633 centres were used to conduct the mock examination for 153, 000 candidates across the country. Let's hope that this year, under President Buhari, 70% of JAMB admissions don't go to the north, with Katsina state having 25%, Daura 20%. 4 Likes |

For JAMBites who missed the mock. I advice you to get any CBT training software and practice. It will give you the same experience your colleagues got yesterday. You may want to consider this one... http://smoothadmission..com.ng/2017/04/how-to-dramatically-increase-your.html |

YonkijiSappo: The least-educated group - Northern Nigeria - largely decides who rules Nigeria and what shall be in Nigeria. That is why Nigeria is a flop Through the 20 states unduly proliferated by northern soldiers in the one region northern Nigeria, the region draws undue political over-representation to all spheres of Nigeria's political process. This way the north largely decides what can be in Nigeria. A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states, this way even a goat from northern Nigeria must win the most qualified presidential material from the the two southern regions. Truth is that in a federal country made up by diverse groups, land mass is never used as criterion to create new states or provinces or regions from existing federal units. There should have been more states in the two southern regions than in the one northern region. 1 Like |

canalily: No o. Almost every year, admission statistics is usually between 400,000 - 500,000. Let me give you some statistics... Last year (2016): 1,589,175 people applied for JAMB. Only 444,969 got admission. In 2015:1,475,477 people applied. Only 442,643 got. In 2014: 1,606,753 applied. Only 401,688 got it. I got that stat from this article... http://smoothadmission..com.ng/2017/04/how-to-legitimately-increase-your.html And the article writer got it from the National Bureau of Statistics. |

YonkijiSappo: If this was an award....they will carry the award as the champions... and their brothers and sisters will celebrate with them..... But truth be told, in a civilized world that is void of tribalism....IMO state should have been given an extra opportunity to create more state and federal university.... Tribalism have killed us in this country.... |
