Jollof Rice

There has been recent debates as to which African or West African country has the best Jollof Rice.

I was born into eating rice and stew every Sunday from childhood as a christian ( not bible related, just used to it).

Mum cooks jollof too. Every week from childhood up until we grew up and years later she still cooks jollof and we still eat jollof while at the family house.

I have not travelled to Ghana, Senegal or any other African country but i make bold to say Nigeria has the best jollof.

I even prefer it when cooked with vegetables (spinach), unfortunately most do not use this.

My most favourite jollof kind is the one prepared with firewood. I do not know how to explain this but there is an unexplainable connection between the firewood smell and the jollof that makes me ask for more.

There is hardly any wedding you would attend that Jollof Rice would be absent from the dishes prepared.
