In Zaria, kaduna state. MTN seems to be the fatest network, followed by etibaba. |

I can bet with thousands Starcomm is the best, even the CDMA far beta than some acclaimed 3G.I just dispose my multilinks blue broad band 3G after months of mails on howthey are exploiting me. |

Come who is then using GLO?? everyone is all about MTN. Glo is superb o!! well thats when they feel like cuz when they dont you wont even open simple sites like nairaland let alone download anything.i still like them sha. Those of you that have 3G coverage,Just imagine not having 3G coverage in you area?? would you survive?? i definitely wont. |

I use Multilinks blue broadband and I sometimes get up to 40kbps download speed. It takes about three buffering to watch a 2:30mins video on facebook. |

As for me and my house, MTN is the best, The only problem i have with it is just a lil network problem which happens seldomly, otherwise, it is cool.,I live in benin and glo, starcomms and even etisalat is crap compared to MTN |
Re: MTN 3G Vs Glo: For Internet Access by chidyke77(m): 8:05pm On Jan 10, 2010 |
MTN as far as i know is inconsistence and any network that is nt consistence has already scored minus 50%. before you rate a network you have to start with the minimal inconsistence that you encounter with them before talking about speed. MTN can disappoint you when you needed them most and i will not rate them among the best. I still prefer starcomm coz they have never disappointed me. |
Re: MTN 3G Vs Glo: For Internet Access by adanny01(m): 8:55pm On Jan 10, 2010 |
I'll choose MTN anytime. In Abj using my Sonyericsson 3G fone i cud download at 50kb/s 3G network but at my home Kafanchan Edge is about 10kb/s and GPRS 5-6kb/s. Even with GPRS i never visit a cafe. I used my Visasurf for only a month but nt satisfied cos of the coverage (i travel alot). MTN and i belive all other networks depend on the location. My former location Lafia, Nass state is the worst i've ever browsed with MTN. Etisalat's Edge is more stable than MTN though. MTN's 3gig limit is limitin and the nite plan is frustrating. My best download time is in the early morning hours when nite plan is ending. I usually have problems connecting between 11pm-2am. Even with these problems i still prefer MTN. |

Well MTN hasn't dissapointed me at all although i use GLO at times. To tell the truth,i've been browsing absolutely free-of-charge with these networks both on phone and PC for over 3 years now. I've almost forgotten what itz like to pay for internet access and i still get the very best out of them Let me give u'all a hint. -If u're not in a 3G or 3.5G covered location, don't expect miracles cuz It won't be fast. -Try and educate urself before complaining GPRS speed----- 5-8kb/s maximum EDGE speed-----25kb/s maximum 3G speed---------about 60-100kb/s 3.5G speed------- up to 400kb/s Let me post some screenshots

On December 30, 2009, I purchased a Glo modem and I have since discovered that it was a massive mistake on my part. I work in Victoria Island and I live in Ketu and the system has no 3G connection in these two locations. I have not even been able to post any comment on Nairaland since then neither have I been able to open my mail boxes. Right now, I am at a cyber cafe at Oyin Jolayemi in V/I. I decided on Glo because of their undersea cable connecting Nigeria to other parts of the world recently completed. Its simply a fraud. If there is no 3G coverage in Ketu, what of Victoria Island? |

I am currently using starcomms 1x and it is annoying. I have been using it for a while now but never had any problem. However, since December, I have been having a big problem with it and planning to change but I am a big clueles now. Someone recommended ipnxnigeria but the thing is that u can not use it when there is no light which makes no sense to me. Starcomms evdo has been recommended as well but I am scared they may not be in my area and I am sure their support reps will not be honest enough to tell me the truth if I go to their office. I am in Iyana odo ( in between Ikotun and Lasu - just immediately after Isheri ). Can any one in anywhere close to me recommend an internet connection to me? |
