The time for early planting of cucumber and watermelon is March, April, May while late planting is in September, October and November. Yield per hectare in early planting is usually 2 tonnes, while late planting is usually 0.95 tonnes per hectare. Your watermelon gives you 20 to 30 tonnes per hectare.
*No of fruits per plant in early planting* is usually 10 to 12,
*while in late planting* is 5 to 9, NPK fertilizer of 120kg should be use per hectare. You can use local or foreign seed, open or closed seeds, hybrid or general seed.

*Time of harvest* your watermelon or cucumber can be harvested 3 to 20 times before they wither and the watermelon takes 80 to 100 days before harvest while your cucumber takes 50 to 70 days.

*common pest of cucumber and watermelon* are mites, fruit flies, spider, aphids, white flies, cucumber and watermelon beetles.
*the diseases* are bacteria wilt, mosaic virus, scab diseases. early planting and planting of disease resistant cultivars helps saves cost
Cucumber that get too large and yellow on the vine can become too bitter, so be sure to harvest them from d vine before they turn yellow, d size attained to guarantee harvest is usually 5 to 11 inches.

3kg to 4kg of seeds is required per hectare, the cucumber or watermelon seeds should be treated with Carbendazim 2gram/kg before planting and the field must be irrigated before dibbling the seeds. The spacing should be 2m by 3m and it must be planted half (1/2) inches into the soil, or 18 to 36 inches apart, for organic fertilizers, use compost or manure or Use granular fertilizer to prepare the soil before planting. Never allow fertilizer to touch the leaves for it will stunt the plant, u may fertilize after planting with liquid fertilizer. If the leave turns yellow then you will need high nitrogen fertilizer. 20 tonnes of farm yard manure may be used per acre in the field preparation before planting.
*To Control Weed* use Paraquat, Glycophosphate, or Chloramben and it needs a sandy loamy soil or a clayey soil with PH of 6.0 to 7.0.
