WHAT IS CPR?

How many Nigerians know CPR? Don’t worry, we are here to show you a basic hands only CPR.
Lives have been lost, when a simple start of CPR could have saved them. This is not to say that CPR will work in every case, but at least it does give people a fighting chance of survival and sometimes, that is all that you need.

Come along and let’s learn CPR. First we will start with definition and give a little explanation of how CPR actually works.
So what does CPR stand for? It stands for C- Cardio P-Pulmonary R-Resuscitation

What this simply means is that you (the person giving the CPR) are manually helping the patient breathe until the arrival of hospital emergency workers. What CPR does is continue to pump/circulate blood around the body and allow oxygen to move to vital organs.

Hands-Only CPR Can Save Lives. Most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location die because they don't receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. As a bystander, don't be afraid. Your actions can only help. Immediate CPR can help save a life.
