Re: Proto Vs Skales by ofokaofoki: 7:40am On Jan 13, 2010 |
THIS THREAD SHOULD BE VECTOR VS SKALES VS PROTO 1ST -VECTOR 2, SKALES 3 PROTO VECTOR IS ALWAYS ON POINT WIT FLOWS AND BEATS , VECTOR IS A WORLD CLASS SONGWRITER / SKALES HAS ONLY ONE HIT, HIS OTHER SONGS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS ''HEADING FOR GRAMMY PROTO ON THE OTHER HAND HAS A FLOW THAT IS HARD FOR D AVERAGE NAIJA STREET HUSTLER TO DECIPHER , ONLY LITERATE HIPHOP HEADS CAN DICYPHER PROTO'S FLOW , HIS FLOW HIS EXECUTIVE, BUT THEY ARE ALL ABOVE AVERAGE ,. BUT VECTOR IS THEIR BABA! |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by HJ1(m): 8:11am On Jan 13, 2010 |
HABA HOW CAN U COMPARE VECTOR WITH PROTO . . . I actually tot of comparing proto and skales cuz they are both youngsters, i mean proto is barely 17 and i equally think is below 20's . . vector is much older than both of them so nah, the comparison with him aint aight, u dig? now back to the topic . . . i heard the other skales and 4 real i wasn't impressed one bit, the only joint dat caught ma attention was "headin 4 d grammy" and his collab wit banky, se finis . . . . but proto had me going from every song to evry song . . . "motion* picture drive*, i concluded that dream works" . . . thats just a lil tip from wut this youngster kicks on his joints . . . so i stil think PROTO holds it down 4 me |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by Genuflect(m): 8:20am On Jan 13, 2010 |
Ofoka, how now? I still think Proto dwarfs Vector o. Proto's wordplay is just crazy. He doesn't drop all these 'guguru and epa' punchlines that we hear from the average Nigerian rapper. Dude is just fierce |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by tosinaded(m): 8:36am On Jan 13, 2010 |
dey are both crazy on the beat jare!! all of a sudden we av so many rap heads in the game!!!! its crazy i acant even choose |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by chrisical(m): 9:10am On Jan 13, 2010 |
Proto |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by ofokaofoki: 9:14am On Jan 13, 2010 |
Genuflect: am aight genuflect , thats why i said proto is too intellectual for the average head, he his too executive in his flows, vector on the other hands relates to the nigerian streets, proto would have issues relating to the street, the average nigerian is not well schooled but proto kinda hiphop flows cuzz its american just like iceberg slim am talking bout proto's flow not his lyrical knowledge. if u know what i mean . |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by lalaboi(m): 9:21am On Jan 13, 2010 |
ofokaofoki: Am trying so hard to get the point your are trying to make. . . . Proto's flow is too what? Executive for an average nigerian?. . . . BS!! People too dey yarn anything wey dem no sabi sha!. . . |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by chrisical(m): 9:23am On Jan 13, 2010 |
Proto's lines are off the chain. @lala Ruggedman's new single is out.Can you try to upload? |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by Genuflect(m): 9:27am On Jan 13, 2010 |
Ofoka, I don't mean intellectual like that o. He is just different from most of these cats. It's not as if he kicks knowledge like Nas or something. He's just doing the same thing every other rapper is doing but in a very very different way. It's been a long time any Nigerian rapper has wowed me like Proto. Gotta give it up to dude |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by ofokaofoki: 11:03am On Jan 13, 2010 |
lalaboi: mr lalaboi , abi werin them dey call u , something dey worry u for yansh?? na u i dey follow talk ni?, werin concern me and u now.??ogbeni di ra e mu. if u see my comment again , never ever quote it and dont ever refer to anything i say on here, wetin concern me concern u , i beg hold urself o. i no send u message o. never ever refer to my comment for here again?? u dey hear me so? @genuflect original correct person see lemme scholl these hiphop illiterates see proto is nothing out of the ordinary, what am saying is his accent is too american since some muguns here dont understand what i meant by ''executive flow, why do u think people dont trip for iceberg slim flow? thats because he didnt inculcate naija style into his american accentry, if u look at saucekid for instance, saucekid combines naija flows with american accent, he can even use broken and pidgin to speak phonetics , thats what i mean when i say executive flow, thats why u see people like tosinadeda and ofoka wanting to die for saucekid because saucekid relates to the average hiphop head , he doesnt overuse the executive flow.!! but some fake hiphop heads in here would take 50 years to understand the kind of knowledge an average proto drops when he is rapping , all proto does is fill his words with metaphors and punchlines thats all, aint nothing special , 500 years from now i would still pick a vector over proto and pick proto over skales . do u now understand? talk to me man |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by ofokaofoki: 11:11am On Jan 13, 2010 |
H.J: NO WE DONT DIG, ! WHAT DOES LYRICAL SKILLS HAVE TO DO WIT AGE?? , SOME PEOPLE SEF. I WONDER WHERE SOME PEOPLE LEARNT THEIR WACKAWICKI HIPHOP FROM , AFTER NOW THEY WILL SAY THEY HAVE BEEN ROTTING ''UNDERGROUND''. FOR 39YEARS. KNOWLEDGE IS LIGHT!. |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by Genuflect(m): 11:52am On Jan 13, 2010 |
Ofoka, I dig your drift. But you still gast give respect to Proto. He's chilling with Eldee, remember? Eldee go give the guy mad beats and hooks too. And those metaphors and punchlines are too good to be classified as 'nothing special'. Cut the guy some slack na |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by ofokaofoki: 12:12pm On Jan 13, 2010 |
@genuflect yes proto is actually good, but the fact that he is chilling wit eldee doesnt make him an outright success, he still has to work hard . remember eldee is now singing , proto is rapping, have u thot of the synergistic effect of an r n b beat with a hiphop rapper , , instead of hiphop with hiphop , the old eldee the don was more hiphop. when he was trybesmen, proto should request for exceptional hiphop beats from eldee, proto in my opinion still needs to work hard cuzz competition in the rap game right now is not easy for any rapper if u know what i mean . |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by Genuflect(m): 12:20pm On Jan 13, 2010 |
Of course, he needs to work hard; everybody needs to work hard. But the prospect of him becoming a hit is very very high |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by ofokaofoki: 12:42pm On Jan 13, 2010 |
Genuflect: yes i agree 100% wit u, he has 100 chance of becoming a huge hit but lemme ask u place proto against the basic nigerian standard for example place proto against an MI or modenine for instance do u think he offers something extremely different from what we are used to?? |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by Genuflect(m): 12:58pm On Jan 13, 2010 |
Proto might not offer something totally different but he sure seems that he can demand attention from an average Nigerian. Lyrically, he is very sound. But music-making is totally different. If he can prove himself in that department, he would soon garner crazy buzz |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by ofokaofoki: 1:06pm On Jan 13, 2010 |
Genuflect: This is exactly where i was leading u to, writing rap music and rapping is not the same as just rapping , the average nigerian can rap but cannot make music , intellectual writing is a different ball game . why do u think we have ghostwriters? do u also know that some people can write music but cannot rap, ? lemme divert from hiphop small, jay martins is a music writer , some people complain that his lyrics are too repetitive , thats the difference btw a professor and a student jay martin can write 5 lines and make it a hit, another artist can write a whole mixtape and it will be full of crap. lemme go back to hiphop puff daddy cannot write lyrics but he can rap what was ghostwritten but delivers it in a wack way just like the average nigerian rapper, even when he raps what was ghostwritten for him he is still not as tight as a papoose or cassidy for instance music is a talent , not everyone has it , but u can force urself to do it , when u do , people will say ur music is wack . thats why u have tight songs and wack songs. ! what am saying is making sweet music is a different ball game FINALLY TO NAIJA HIPHOP why do u think we have the MI, MODENINE, RUGGEDMAN, SAUCEKID AND WE HAVE A WHOLE LOTTA UNDERGROUND RAPPERS ABOUT 200 WHO ARE NOT ON THE A-LIST GOOD RAP MUSIC MUST CONSIST OF CHORUS, HOOKS THAT ARE SURE HITS , NOT JUST THE LYRICS ! IT GOES BEYOND BEING ABLE TO RAP OR FLOW, IT INVOLVES WHAT WE CALL ''MUSIC PRODUCTION'' .! |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by Genuflect(m): 1:11pm On Jan 13, 2010 |
I understand. That is why I'm saying he has the prospect of blowing up. All he needs is to meet the right producers, feature the right people, do the right vids etc. You know how the game is na. Lol |
Re: Proto Vs Skales by HJ1(m): 1:19pm On Jan 13, 2010 |
@ofoki, if u dont know, age is a factor for an emcee . . i bet wen u were 13, u barely knew wut a bar was let alone understood wut peeps said in their rap verses. . and secondly a grown mind in the rap game can never be compared a newbie who just existed on earth wen the essence of hiphop was phasing out . . . but in the case of proto he can stand his own wit the likes of icebergslim, M.I, saucekid, eldee and any other rapper u think has been in the game long enough (yeah i said it), and dat to me a major plus on this proto kid . . wen u see talent acknowledge it!! |
