Abia will be rid of crime and criminals...Dr Ikpeazu.

Dr Ikpeazu has reiterated his commitment to make sure Abia State continues to enjoy peace and tranquility.
He commended the police and other security agencies for making sure crime is reduced to a barest minimum in the State.

The Governor made the commendation when he received in audience The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Research and Planning ,Force Headquarters, DIG Valentine Ntomchukwu ,who is in Abia State on a working visit.

The Governor who said that Safety and security are enablers that drive growth, tasked the force to look into Street cultism which has introduced youths into hard drugs and has opened them up to criminal elements .He Urged the police not to treat it with kids gloves and stated that he is satisfied with the collaboration received from Inspector General and other Police command .He commended the police for curbing the excesses of herdsmen through constant monitoring of activities of herdsmen in the State.

Earlier, DIG Valentine stated that his familiarization tour is part of operation review tour of the entire South East to know what the police command is doing in the area of crime control.

The DIG who said that Abia is strategic in policing, commended the Governor for his plan to make Abia Japan of Africa through his numerous efforts. He Commended the Governor for supporting the police with vehicles, allowances and pledged that the police will continue to work to achieve peace.

The high point of the event was presentation of 5 Police vehicles and motorcycles to the police force in Abia State and donation of Generator to AIG by the Governor ,Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu.
