But why is CBN brainless? To withdraw on counter na war, we paid 1k for card now you want to collect #600 per year to maintain a #1000 card either I use it or not for transaction. Its time to deactivate ATM card for all other useless bank in my possession.
Seriously this government is all about stealing from Nigerians with only empty unfulfilled promises to show for it. From the senile president lambasting past administration for medical tourism outside the country to budgeting money for ten federal hospitals to his own clinic only to get sick and spend tax payer's money for medical tourism outside the country and till date he won't give full transparency on amount spent because the money belongs to his great grand father
am not here to support anyone but hope you know he his entitled to medical alawance

he Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had revised the card maintenance charges in the new guide which was released last month from N100 annually to N50 monthly. This means every debit or credit card holder will pay N600 annually as against the N100 being paid previously.

According to data released recently by the Nigeria Inter Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) the central database for banking transactions in the country show that as at September 30, 2016, there are 29.24 million active cards being used by the 63 million active bank customers.

The new Guide to Bank Charges stipulates that banks charge N50 monthly as card maintenance fee on naira debit and credit cards, while foreign currency denominated debit and credit cards would be charged $20 or its equivalent on an annual basis.

This is the same question I was just about asking.

When does his tenure end?

He is the worst CBN governor we've ever had since CBN was established.

Why Buhari hasn't sacked him beats me. The id1ot was appointed by GEJ. Why is he still being allowed to head CBN angry

Brox sincerely yours the trash we accept in Nigeria if it were to be in a sane clime you will need to drug all the citizens. But this ain't pmb thread its emefiele the scammer whose sole aim is to make commercial banks rich at the expense of the masses yet the stupid set of house reps & senate will push their eyes somewhere else. By the time you recharge #100 MTN to get 10mb data on pulse 20 times a month, get credit alert less than 10k each like 40 times a month, u sef dey transfer Gtb to Gtb like 50 times a month then you already get #400+ as SMS alert plus #500 for ATM maintenance in a country where some people stay on 1k for survival in three days the banks just collect it effortlessly because they know Nigerians will only rant but no liver for action. When we start taking politicians for those we pay from our collective purses not as if they are doing us a Favour by using our money for constructing roads for us, providing electricity etc that is when Naija will be sane.
Let pmb publish His medical allowance for the year and show us the expenses for the uk trip from Abj flight till treatment then we'll know he is truly sai gaskiya that was packaged as the incorruptible one.

Please for saying negative things about this RGBS let them thoroughly read it very well at the end they will commend CBN, for example bank charge N5,000 for letter of non indebtedness but now is free, On loan pricing some banks charge up to 4% which comprises mgt fees, commitment Fess's and on know no bank can charge more than 2% also you will observed that on each instant transfer banks charge 105/naira know is half of that about the are a lot on concession to banks customers on the new RGBC just have a copy and read before commenting .

Thank uou

Who do you think will gain? Government or the banks. Emiefele is doing all these to favour his GODfather, Jim Ovia. He's the most clueless CBN governor in Nigerian history.
