My very first tune,
Was a sweet lullaby,
I was asleep and,
It stifled my screaming,
But then even still,
It only made me cry,
I was awake and,
It started my dreaming,

Forever is a story,
Spanning both ends,
Of a moment in time...

My very first song,
Was a trifling love song,
I was only in love,
Persistently aching,
But then even still,
It was never too long,
I was ever the fool, and,
My heart was breaking,

Forever is a wish,
Healing a broken road,
To the recovery of dreams...

My very last song,
Will be the babbling blues,
It will come too soon,
Living, loving, loosing,
But then even still,
I would never refuse,
I will be ready, even,
If it isn't by choosing,

Forever is a dream,
Distant and small,
like a whisper in the rain...

When my music is all,
Played out on strings,
I will fold up my spirit,
In a crisp paper plane,
Glide into a keyhole,
Find new beginnings,
Live alive forever,
In a song in refrain.

Forever is a prayer,
Searching the river,
For the sad ears of God.

I got lost today,
While walking the tracks,
In the chance,
Of my brief coffee break time;
I fled my tedium,
Through slithering cracks,
Of a portal that moved,
With altering chime.

It was a beautiful place,
I did not recognize,
Yet it felt like a home
I once knew very well,
A sense of nostalgia,
Drew mist from my eyes
But there were no memories,
And no stories to tell.

Sweet vicarious feeling,
So tangible and dear,
It filled the blank pages,
At the speeding of sound,
And suddenly swift,
Swiftly sudden I hear,
My intimate story,
Both seeming and profound.

I am trapped in a vortex,
These familiar tracks,
A robust prison,
The steel of my longing,
How could I get out,
And why shouldn't i relax,
Beneath the heaviness,
Of lyrical thronging.

Poetry with rhythm
Sweet to read
Lovely to the ears
Food to the soul.

Nice poem. The brevity of lines is awesome. I feel the melancholy of the poetic persona too.
