''There's nothing there to forgive, you didn't offend me.''

''I left you there without telling you I was leaving. That wasn't
manly, I'm sorry.''

''It's okay, I said I understand.''

''Just say you forgive me.'' he pressed.

''Alright, I forgive you.'' she answered and without thinking he went
over and hugged her, something he's been meaning to do since morning
when he saw her looking so stunning in the hot pink gown meant for the
bride's squad.

She cleared her throat softly but he still he held unto her like he
heard nothing.

''I love you,'' he whispered. How the words smoothly made it out of
his mouth shocked him. Too late to take it back! Nevertheless, now
that the words are finally out, he exhaled in relief and held unto her
like a life boat. ''I love you Dami.'' he repeated.

She slowly disengaged from him and smiled at him, a very obvious
feigned smile. ''I have forgiven you.''

''Huh?''

''I said I have forgiven you. Goodnight.''

Without another word he turned and left for his room like a spoilt kid
that has been denied candy.
The following morning came sooner than he wanted.

''Good morning everyone.'' he greeted and sat down for his breakfast
without waiting for any response.

Mary watched him through narrowed eyelids and noticed his usual mood,
''Some woke up on the wrong side of the bed.'' she teased.

''I noticed it also.'' Maryann added.

He ignored them and continued his breakfast of fried egg, bread and tea.

''K.C, what's wrong? Your eyes are swollen.'' his mum asked?

''Mum, nothing.'' he simply said still munching his food.

''Are you sure you're not ill?'' Richard asked.

''Doc Richie, I'm not ill.'' he said with meeting his gaze.

''Are you sure about that?'' Mary asked. ''your eyes looks like you've
not slept for days; swollen and bloodshot red.''

He didn't sleep a wink throughout the night, but he dare not admit it
to avoid being bombarded with more questions.

''Mummy Chiagozie,'' Ken called out to his wife. ''you've used almost
3hours and you're not even ready.''

''Daddy Chiagozie, I'm a woman.'' she answered. ''and, please stop
making me feel like an old woman by calling me 'Mummy Chiagozie' ''

He shrugged. ''Yes Ma,'' he answered playfully, ''but sweetheart, we
are almost late for Nate's thanksgiving service, it starts by nine and
it's already ten minutes past eight.''

''I will be right down, I'm sorry.'' she apologized.

''Apology not accepted, please be fast.''

This time he knew better than to switch on the television while
waiting for Vicky before another bad news pops up on the T.V and ruin
their sunday. He stood up and supported his child who has been taking
few steps and falling without giving up, he admired his courage.

They've already gone around the center table four times when Vicky
ascended the stairs and came beside them.

''Oh My!'' he exclaimed, taking in her look; her perfect and stunning
look in a well tailored ankara skirt and blouse with a well tied
turquoise blue gele.

''What?'' she asked, smiling down at him.

He threw her a wink, ''Could we spend the day together, just you and I?''

''What about Chiagozie?''

''He can spend the day with his grandma and grandpa.'' he replied and
raised his brows.

''When you are done ogling, come out, I don't want to be late.'' she
answered and left him there standing and pouting like an over-pampered
brat.

She more than loves the way he easily laughs, smiles and make small
jokes this days and their marriage is gradually slipping back to the
way it was in the first two months; like two love struck teenagers.
Anger is indeed a killer disease.

Ken watched his wife leave and smiled. Things are gradually returning
back to normal. After they both attended Kath's burial, a burial which
Vicky forced him to attend, they had over heard some of Kath friends
talking about Kath's plan to do the surgery and come back home with a
new look and then finally take over Ken, It wasn't a suprise but
somehow it still shocked them to hear that Kath hadn't given up on
Ken, she was only re-strategizing. Vicky had managed to stay till her
remains was lowered six feets beneath the ground, then walked out with
a deep frown, since then, they've both been living like a perfect
couple; laughing, joking, teasing one another and most importantly,
telling each other things and being there for one another in times of
need.

He picked up his child and locked the doors and started walking
towards his wife who was already waiting by the car. A small breath
caught in his throat, it amazed and still amazes him how she manage to
look more and more beautiful as the days go by. Unlike most women he
has seen and even read about that care less about their looks as soon
as they get married or start having kids, his wife never fails to look
stunning.

''I'm the one waiting now,'' she said as he got closer.

''Sorry Ma' '' he playfully apologized and handed their kid to her. He
had been too busy ogling after his wife to even care about Nate's
thanksgiving nor any other thing.

''Time to go.'' she reminded him.

He nodded and they got into the car and he immediately started it and drove off.

Thirty minutes later and they were already at the entrance to the
church, he slowed down and drove in and parked his car properly. They
alighted, however, the black toyota tinted car by a lonely corner
caught their attention.

''Isn't that K.C's car?'' Vicky asked.

''I guess so,'' Ken replied.

''When did he start attending church services and this early for that
matter, something must be wrong, it's suspicious.''

''He has changed, he is no longer that playboy you once knew him as.''
Ken boldly replied, a hundred percent sure of what he is saying.

They neared the church entrance and almost bumped into Nate who was
hurrying out like he's been chased by a hungry lion.

''I'm glad you came.'' Nate said to them and shook hands with Ken,
hugged Vicky and played with their baby.

''You look so good bro,'' Ken complimented Nate. Two times in three
days he has gone out of his element and dressed in ankara and two
times he looked really handsome in it. His model like body despite the
fact that he hates going to the gym, made it possible for whatever he
wears to fit him perfectly.
'Thanks bro,'' Nate answered, ''I'm also thinking of owning more of it.''

''Where is your wife?'' Vicky asked.

''She's inside,''

''I will leave you two, let me go in and say 'hi' to her.'' Vicky said
to them and she left when they nodded in agreement.

Hey, bro, have you seen K.C, I've been trying to reach him since 7AM
this morning but his phone has been switched off.'' Nate said to Ken.

Ken got confused. Wasn't it K.C's car that he saw earlier on? ''Are
you sure about that? Have you checked among the congregation
properly?''
