Aswagaawy: ON THE LAP OF SILENCE Alone in the warm bowel of solitude, Reflecting on the breeze and the breaths, Meditating on life, its dirt and the eventual death of all beings, I lean on the lap of silence; Silence that swallows silences and reechoes the voice of wandering noises into listening and inattentive ears; Where there's no music nor songs but the rhymes and rhythms of Tilaawah, The cadence of praising heartbeats And the pace of restless beads. Alone, like the sun - kinging the firmament in the day with blazing eyes and peeping into the room of earth through the feeble windows of the blessed month of Ramadan. Alone, like a date seed, forgotten on the soil of a lagoon, dwindling on its chest to be picked by the Lord's merciful finger. I am the son of the soil, I am the son of the sun, I am the son of silence, I am the son of solitude... #PoeticWednesday #Spiritual_Isolation Ayeyemi Taofeek Omokehinde ASWAGAAWY THE POETICIAN the toothpick that walks like a man 1 Like |

Ma sha Allah! I love this, and it kinda reflects Islamic mysticism, I can almost wager that you are very familiar with works by Rumi? Would love to read more... 1 Like |

Sabr A man picks out a million bees from gallons of honey He forgets it's the bees that produced the honey A man bites his own finger so deep that it bleeds rue Of not ditching impatience when it sweetens like honey A nation meets its end when faced with Noah's flounce A village grows to nation by Muhammad's heart of honey Patience is a water that quenches the lust of anger By way of housefly drowning in the pool of honey The grain waits for months and it becomes a spike of grains The bees wait on flowers and nectars, and come combs of honey You're not a coward when you walk away or retreat You're a warrior who conquer his soul; hope for honey Man! The beautiful garment one can wear is of sabr It's a dress code into the garden of wine and honey TAOFEEK AYEYEMI (ASWAGAAWY) #Ghazal

sino:Thank you, Sino, for reading. I feel highly revered. Wow! It's been two years now that I posted it here and you commented. Thank you. Also, Rumi is my model. That's why the spirit of his works is always visible in my works too. Thanks again. 1 Like |
