Elon Musk, entrepreneur billionaire and CEO of electric car company Tesla and private space exploration endeavor SpaceX just can’t seem to stay off the limelight. Based on an idea laid out by him, Hyperloop one,a company which started out in 2014 in a Los Angeles garage is determined to create a new way to move people and things at airline speeds for the price of a bus ticket.

It uses a custom electric motor to accelerate and decelerate a levitated pod through a low-pressure tube independent of turbulence.

The company which is set to test out its full systems has revealed their shortlist of nine potential European routes for their transportation project which is estimated to connect over 75 million people in 44 cities over 3,100miles (5,000 kilometers) through the fastest mode of transportation ever!!! The list was compiled based on a global challenge to determine cities that will benefit the most from new transport system.

Three routes have been picked in the UK from London to Edinburg, Glasgow to Cardiff and the third line connecting cities in the North with Scotland.

Other routes across the continent, includes Corsica to Sardinia in France, Tallinn in Estonia to Helsinki in Finland, Autobahn route in Germany, the Dutch Loop in the Netherlands, Warsaw to Wroclaw in Poland and Madrid to Tangiers in Spain. Also, not so long ago, the company announced talks with India.

In a statement by Shervin Pishevar, the company’s co-founder and executive chairman, toldCNBC, “our vision is to, one day, connect all of Europe with our Hyperloop One system, networking the entire continent.”Hyperloop One says, the world is ready for a new mode of transportation that will change the way we live. We’re in the business of selling time, the most precious resource there is. When cities become metro stops, regions will flourish.
