Images are very important to blog posts for several reasons. It is a very common saying that a picture is worth more than a thousand words. The interesting thing is that this statement is true! Images give an identity to your blog posts and give the reader an idea of what the blog post is all about. Before reading any word, the image has already summarized the blog post.

When you share your blog post to social media platforms like facebook, twitter, whatsapp, etc, the most visible item is the blog image and without an image, your blog post might just get lost in the torrent of other posts and content. Infact, your blog post image might as well be the single determining factor in whether your blog post link gets clicked or it gets ignored.

Images are also essential for blog search engine optimization(SEO). The blog image alternate text( alt text) and other image tags are very important for the search engines and they determine how images are ranked in image search results. This ranking is important to your blog because they ultimately lead the user to your blog. There are a plethora of free image sources for your blog. Free images which you can use for your blog abound on the internet ranging from free stock images to images that are free under the creative commons attribution. I will reserve the issue of how to get blog images for another blog post as I intend to keep this short.

The major issue I want to address here is that of images bursting through the sides of your blog leading to that awful look. The image appears too big for your blog and gets covered by gadgets from your sidebar. From experience, this can be really frustrating and am going to show you a very neat and quick way to address this.
PS: Am aware of methods of adjusting the image size on your blog by choosing small, medium, large, extra large, etc. However, there are times where the method am showing you here will prove to be just what the doctor ordered.
Most bloggers are familiar with the problem where you upload an image to your blog and it bursts through the sides of your blog. This can be really frustrating especially if you are running a photography blog.

To address this issue, while creating the post, add the following immediately after the image title:
Width=”100%”
That will do the trick.
