The new curriculum and the misconceptions.

1. The curriculum did not remove CRK or IRK. What actually happened was the merger of subjects.

2. Instead of having CRK as a subject, IRK as a subject, Social studies as a subject, Civic Education as a subject. They have all been merged as a subject, Religion and National Values(RNV)

3. Book publishers have separated the two under Christian Religion and National Values and Muslim Religion and National Values.

4. Its not a compulsion for a Muslim student to do both as he can choose only Muslim Religion and National Values. The same is applicable to christian students.

5. The said curriculum was to reduce workload for student in basic classes and not to exterminate any religion.

6. Subjects like Agricultural Science, home economics have also been merged under merged under Prevocational Studies (PRV)

7. The said curriculum was signed under the leadership of Ezenwo Wike as the minister of education and Goodluck Jonathan as the president. They are both christians

This post is in reaction to the the earlier accusation laid against president Buhari by Apostle Sulaimon of trying to Islamize Nigeria by removing CRK from secondary school curriculum http://dailypost.ng/2017/06/18/apostle-suleman-blows-hot-removal-crk-curriculum-warns-buhari-north/

Thanks OP. Before they politicize and religionise everything as usual.
Apostle Suleman is just an attention seeker. Later he'll be hiding inside Fayose's booth when govt comes after him for inciting violence.
