Soccer referee is a paid job, like most jobs, becoming a
soccer referee requires the individual to go through
some trainings and get certified regardless of your
county, city, region, state and even country.
Each country has her own Football body and referee
associations that oversee this processes.
In this post I'm going to share some general rules and
requirements that will gurantee you success in
becoming a referee in your local league and possible
international competitions.
First of I have to acknowledge the soccer referees in
the world, you guys makes the game more fun to
watch.
Being a referee should be a decision you make out of
love for the game. Anything worth doing is worth doing
well if you put your heart to it.
Referees are most times on the run during a match so
that they can have a clear view of the action, this
means that an intending referee should be able to run
at a certain minimum pace and duration of the game.
Refereeing job is more like a promotion/ranking type of
job, you have to start from the very bottom and walk
your way to the very top. In order to get accepted into
the bottom level you will need some qualifications. See
it like you are applying to college, you must first prove
that you passed through some classes and graduated
with the minimum grade. But in a refereeing job the
minimum requirement to get into the bottom level of
the ranking is your zeal/passion to want to be a
referee, your desire. After you've accessed yourself
and you are convinced that the passion is there, the
next step is to contact the football(soccer) refereering
body or association in your state/country(depends on
where you come from). These bodies will walk you
through the steps, rules and disciplines of becoming a
referee. Please note that the method of training in this
stage might be different from each state/country.
When the association/body is convinced that you've
passed the test/exam you will be assigned a referee
badge and you will be asked to buy your referee gears.
You start off by officiating less competitive games, an
eye will still be on you. Your job here determines when
you will move up the ranking ladder.
Please note that you will have to study the rule of the
game(soccer) from start to end, line by line.
I hope this little message gives a clue that will guide
you in your path of becoming a soccere referee.
Please do share any question you have, we will be glad
to answer you. SOURCE: http://www.soccereye.com/2017/06/how-to-become-soccer-referee.html?m=1 |
