AhluSunnah: How come this sahabiyah face was seen while the prophet was giving khutbah on eid? Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported: I observed prayer with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) on the 'Id day. He commenced with prayer before the sermon without Adhan and Iqama. He then stood up leaning on Bilal, and he commanded (them) to be on guard (against evil for the sake of) Allah, and he exhorted (them) on obedience to Him, and he preached to the people and admonished them. He then walked on till he came to the women and preached to them and admonished them, and asked them to give alms, for most of them are the fuel for Hell. A woman having a dark spot on the cheek stood up and said: Why is it so, Messenger of Allah? He said: For you grumble often and show ingratitude to your spouse. Are you aware that people know aesha the wife of prophet by face and stature? are u aware that its umar that did the sabab of revelation of khimar? are u aware the the command on khimar came late? and according to that hadith... the word "preach" might mean those women knows absolutely nothing about islam. And tawhid is what makes u a muslim no khimar. if u use khimar u are free of sin of not using it. if u do not use it, u are a sinner... Abdulkabir.. I hope u understand.. |

AbdelKabir:Because hadith of rasulullah concering how men and women should dress and also aesha hadith on the actions of ansar women when the h aayah of niqob was revealed that they use the niqob straight away by tearing part of their cloth to cover their face. and also the hadith on when women use to come to mosque to perform salah, its stated there that they all use niqob. and hadith on aeesha when she was forgotten in the war zone and a sahabah saw her.. it was stated there that she used niqob but that sahabah knew her before the aayah of niqob was revealed, he knew thats aeesha. . .and since quran verse is on niqob and so many hadith on it, no sahabah or a muslim will deny it or reject it. using it or not using it is another case..gagag |

For instance, in wudu, we wash the "face" and the "head" separately. In order to say that something covers the face it is necessary to state explicitly that it covers the face; saying that it covers the "head" is not enough. Here are some explanations of the linguistic meaning of "khimar": Imam Abu'l-Fida ibn Kathir: "Khumur is the plural of khimar which means something that covers, and is what is used to cover the head. This is what is known among the people as a khimar." The dictionary of classical Arabic, Aqrab al-Mawarid: "[The word khimar refers to] all such pieces of cloth which are used to cover the head. It is a piece of cloth which is used by a woman to cover her head." Shaykh Muhammad al-Munajjid on Islam Q&A: "Khimaar comes from the word khamr, the root meaning of which is to cover. For example, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Khammiru aaniyatakum (cover your vessels).” Everything that covers something else is called its khimaar. But in common usage khimaar has come to be used as a name for the garment with which a woman covers her head; in some cases this does not go against the linguistic meaning of khimaar. Some of the fuqahaa’ have defined it as that which covers the head, the temples and the neck. The difference between the hijaab and the khimaar is that the hijaab is something which covers all of a woman’s body, whilst the khimaar in general is something with which a woman covers her head." Shaykh Muhammad Nasiruddin Albani: "The word khimaar linguistically means only a head covering. Whenever it is mentioned in general terms, this is what is intended." Each of these authorities has stated that the khimar covers the head not the "face". How is the khimar to be worn? In case the above is not convincing that the khimar covers the head but not the face, here are specific descriptions given in the tafasir of how exactly Allah SWT has commanded the khimar to be worn: Imam Abu Abdullah Qurtubi: "Women in those days used to cover their heads with the khimar, throwing its ends upon their backs. This left the neck and the upper part of the chest bare, along with the ears, in the manner of the Christians. Then Allah commanded them to cover those parts with the khimar." Imam Abu'l-Fida ibn Kathir: "'Draw their khumur to cover their bosoms' means that they should wear the khimar in such a way that they cover their chests so that they will be different from the women of the jahiliyyah who did not do that but would pass in front of men with their chests uncovered and with their necks, forelocks, hair and earrings uncovered. |

that site is totally rubbish.. A site that claims to be on muslims affairs and no single talk on tawhid and things that nulifies islam.. Whoever wants to do dawah must start from tawhid. Rasululah did preach tawhid for 12 years before start talking about salat and other issues. |
