[size=12pt]Reading is not a gift, a calling but a habit that can be learnt from regular practise. You will all agree that there are lots of distractions around these days, before now, there are no mobile phones, video games, digital satellite tv channels and even the internet.Fine technology has its own advantage but it's kills reading habit at an alarming rate.So even if you dont wanna read, you cant actually fit in with your peers cos when disscussions of hardley chase's, nick catter's, sir h rider haggard's works + a host of other great writers start ow do u wanna cope?
These days, people disscuss macthes, idle away on the internet or glued all day to african magic or mnet, Those of us who still find life in reading should try and force our protegees, kids or anybody to inbibe this profitable habit.

Hmmm. Did we ever have one really? How many of your friends when you were growing up shared your love for reading?Out of every ten friends, I'd be lucky to get 3who enjoyed any form of reading. The situation hasn't changed by much.with the global trend towards electronic forms of entertainment.I'm afraid we're waging a lost war.have you read some of the stuff that comprise secondary school reading lately?have you read what many of our brave new authors churn out?!Its guaranteed to put you off reading.the general malaise in the country is all pervading.A writer needs to make money from his work.how does he do that with piracy(is that the correct word now?) flourishing unchecked?if the book is a success the market gets flooded with photocopies.he doesn't get to see a dime.dunno if there's anything that can be done to check the trend.
