Rossikki:As far as i can recall, Samson siasia was really good, almost as good as yekini....but yekini with his long legs and powerful shots, outshone him. |

judedwriter: Siasia ke? Ol boy... Please don't mention Siasia in the same breath as Yekini when talking about strikers. In his prime in the mid 90s, Yekini was one of the best strikers in the world. In the 1994 world cup, when we were 1-1 with Italy, and playing to reach the quarter finals, Yekini almost tore the Italian net, after a through pass got to him, and he raced down the pitch, past all the Itallan defenders, until legendary Italian defender Paulo Maldini desperately grabbed him by the neck and pulled him till he fell to the ground, just before he could tear the net!!! That was what prevented Nigeria from reaching the final of that world cup. Yekini was a beast on the field. 2 Likes |
