Few days back reports flew in that, Manchester United had agreed a £75M deal with Everton for the transfer of goal machine, Romelu Lukaku. Pundits around the world started giving analysis on how the Belgian would fare, it was at this juncture that rival reports surfaced that Antonio Conte was 'fuming' at Chelsea for their inactivity in the transfer window.




At around 21:30 WAT, sources claimed that Chelsea had tabled an identical offer of £75M to rival that of United. This drew skepticism knowing that Lukaku's super agent Minola Raiola had a good relationship with United who also managed Henrik Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba, people said he had begged United to feign interest so as to compel Chelsea to get serious.

It all became real when reports this morning claimed that Lukaku wanted to work with Chelsea, but Manchester United would pay an agent fee of £10M to Raiola if the deal scaled through.



Now Manchester United have made it official on their twitter page "#MUFC is delighted to announce a fee has been agreed with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku, subject to a medical & personal terms."



Ex-Manchester United player, Phil Nevile had earlier teased fans on Instagram with Pic 3, it wasn't sure if it was authentic or photoshopped.




It is as good as done when a football team confirms officially that they've agreed terms with other teams, such as the case of Iborra to Leicester, Sevilla confirmed they had agreed a deal, days before confirmation.


Also in the case of Lacazzette, Lyon President confirmed he had agreed terms with Arsenal, days before confirmation. Everton were unhappy with Lukaku when he failed to turn up for their preseason training since he was still on their payroll, around this period Paul Pogba posted a picture of him and Lukaku working out at America, where Manchester United are having their own preseason fixtures.



When this deal goes through, it will be a record fee for transfer between British clubs, it will be in the region of £85-£90M.

But that was just the beginning, immediately after the United confirmation, Paul Pogba posted a picture of him performing a choreographed handshake with Lukaku, with the Caption, "See you tomorrow in training, Lukaku".



He also posted a video of him and Lukaku performing this handshake, but what caught the eye is that, one of United's top target, Ivan Perisic immediately liked the video. This might imply that United might be closing in on the Inter Milan winger, fans went wild.
