OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode a type of light-emitting diode (LED) technology in which an organic, carbon-based film is placed between two conductors and an electrical current is passed through, which causes it to emit light. Organic materials can easily be damaged by water intrusion into the displays. Therefore an improved sealing process is necessary for OLED displays.
Blue OLEDs have only a lifetime of around 5,000 hours.
