AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode is a type of OLED technology which is used in mobile devices, laptops, smartwatchs, and TVs. Which uses a TFT display technology and OLED to generate pixels. And are mostly in mobile devices especially by Samsung, Google and LG.

Like OLED it does not need backlight, allowing AMOLED display to be thinner, lighter, and more flexible than LCD display.

There are different types of available AMOLED technology which include:
Super AMOLED, HD Super AMOLED, Full HD Super AMOLED, And Quad HD Super AMOLED

Advantage of AMOLED
Like it OLED they are lighter and thinner than LCD due to the lack of a backlight.
Can produce absolute black and high contrast ratio.
Great picture quality because OLED pixels emit light directly and has viewing angles up to 90 degree.
Fast response times of less than 0.01ms

Disadvantage of AMOLED
The main problem is the the blue emitting light has a low lifespans of around 5,000 hours.
