ENCOUNTER WITH ARMED ROBBERS.

On 10th July, 2017 at about 2100hrs along Kano/Zaria road at a point close to Garun Mallam Village, the road was blocked by a gang of armed robbers. Immediately they sighted the Police Patrol vehicle, they opened fire while the Police retaliated with superior firework, thereby gunning down 2 of the armed robbers while others fled into the bush with gun injuries. 1 locally made AK 47 rifle, 1 revolver pistol, 12 live ammunition, charms and torchlight were recovered. Members of the public and hospitals are requested to report to nearest Police Station of anybody seen with bullet injuries for clarification.

One time, when I was a young medic, one night, was on duty. Went to A and E. A and E dey dry that time...when one police pickup come dey pull up for front of the place. One of the police come inside dey look for Casualty officer (doctor in charge of A and E) come say dat dem get three armed robbers wey dey their car and that dem need am come certify them dead. Be as if say the armed robbers come dey steal car , dem drive off....straight into a police checkpoint......of course e no dey end well for dem.

I dey come follow Cas. officer come dey see the bodies....come and see three handsome guys , just dey lie down inside pickup with bullet holes all over....police really rake am with AK-47 well well. As I dey look the guys, e come enter my mind that that morning , those guys were alive....yet because they chose to carry gun....dey don enter one chance....

Stealing is not good. When your mama dey cane una for stealing her N100, na because she no wan get phone call in future so tay 'Your pikin don die for police hand o!'

Has anyone noticed that in almost all the crime reports by our police involving firefight, it's always the hoodlums that open fire first before the police responds with 'superior firepower'?
