​FCT Scholarship Board - The management of FCT Scholarship Board wishes to inform the general public and applicants of FCT Scholarship Award that the screening of the applicants for the 2016/2017 scholarship award will hold as scheduled below:

1.) Screening of Fresh Applicants in Nigeria Tertiary Institution

Date: 17th - 22nd July 2017.

Venue: L.E.A Offices in all the six area council of FCT.

Time: 9.00am - 3.00pm daily.

2.) Screening of Fresh Applicants in Foreign Tertiary Institution

Date: 31st July, 2017 - 4th August, 2017.

Venue: FCT Scholarship Board Head Quarters.

Time: 9.00am - 3.00pm daily.

Special Notice

It is mandatory for all applicants to come along with the following original documents:

- Admission letter

- Student Identification Card (ID)

- Primary/Secondary School Certificate

- Receipt of payment of school fees

- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

- Certificate of indigeneship

- Current Academic records.


Note: Candidates should have it in mind that there will be no screening by proxy.

This scheme has been around for a while, but instead of the stipend being paid to increase it's decreasing...this boils down to the corrupt practices ever present in the FCDA SCHOLARSHIP BOARD. they even pocket some student's money claiming they weren't cleared even if the said students has once benefited from the scheme before. i think that board needs to be visited and scrutinized because the civil servants in charge of the scheme are the major beneficiaries instead of the students.

Let's not Get too excited with all of this over emphasized scholarships by the Govt. TRUTH is you can afford to study abroad with the same cost you will accrue in studying in the various private universities in Nigeria. A lot of European countries are willing to accommodate intending students for a very cheap/affordable tuition fee.
