We are currently in the thick of the football transfer window in Europe and some part of other continents. As usual, clubs battle each other to get the best players so they can compete favourably for titles.

With most clubs trying to keep the average age of their squad on the low side, young players become the targets of the biggest and best clubs. This means the value of some young players are likely to go up.

With the help of Soccerex, we have compiled a list of the top5 most expensive young players in the world right now.

Soccerex report on players born on or after January 1, 1996.

The report considers the player’s age, position, current club, contract length, market value perception, international caps, minutes played, goals, injuries and technical quality from various sources to determine each valuation.

1. Deli Alli- €82.6m

Ali was named as the PFA Young Player of the Year, the second tine in a row he would be winning the award.

Last season alone, he scored 18 Premier League goals as Tottenham chased Champions Chelsea for the league title. That goal scoring stats is even more impressive for a young star considering he is a midfielder.

According to Soccerex’s previous report, Alli’s value has more than doubled. He has gone from €34.1m that placed him on 4th last year to €82.6m.

2. Kylian Mbappe- €61.7m

18 years old Mbappe is placed second with €61.7m. The sensation scored 26 goals in all competitions last season to help Monaco win the league and reached the Champions League semi-finals.

His value is expected to raise further as he is being trailed by two of the biggest spenders in world football- Real Madrid and PSG.

Monaco has already rejected an offer of €135m for the French international from PSG.

3. Ousmane Dembele- €60.9m

Dembele, 20, sits 3rd on the list after producing string of impressive performances since joining from French club Rennes in a €15 million deal last summer.

Last season, Dembele helped BVB overcome a 2-1 deficit in the DFB-Pokal semifinal against Bayern Munich, scoring one and creating another as they turned the game around, and was also on target in the final win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

4. Leroy Sane- €51.1m

The 21 year old German international moved from Schalke to Manchester City last summer. And after a slow start, developed into an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s team.

Sane scored 9th and assisted 5 times for City last season

He is the 4th most valuable young player in world football with €51.1m dropping from the second position he occupied last year.

5. Marco Asensio- €42.7m

The Spanish under 21 player sits in 5th spot with a valuation of €42.7m after a breakthrough season with strings of impressive performances scoring 10 goals in all competitions including 3 in 8 Champions League matches.

Asensio also starred for Spain Under-21s at the Under-21 European Championships earlier this summer, with the attacker inspiring his team to the final of the competition.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly lining up a £130m bid for the attacker.
