Is that wan compensation for pain and suffering or money we paid the lesson teacher for extra classes? angry

Shege!

Is the bride price a sell out price for your daughter?
Are you training her for your selfish reason or for her benefit?
So if Dangote comes to marry your daughter with 20k bride price what happens?
How much your papa pay to marry your mama before dem manufacture a madcow?

Just imagine a person like 2face is not yet married, how do you enforce this law on him?

I guess you didn't understand the post. You do not ENFORCE the LAW on anyone especially people that are not ready to marry. Rather the law is for those that wants to marry but can't because they don't have the Money. 2Face on the other hand has money to marry or remain single. I hope you understand now. Take care

The very girl who broke my heart was from your land. Saw and fell in love totally for her when I did my service-year in Idoma Land with ur silly traditions. Only God knew why it happened. Better, change those ur customs & rights. But truth be told, I still feel for her, still single because of her. I'm Igbo & also, a Biafran.

I will never forgive my in laws for scamming me. After giving me list and say it's 120k maximum, as they collect from others. When I came and the saw I was a big boy and saw my entourage, they doubled the price of the list there and then. I was so mad. Not in Benue o.

In Biafra Land. Most beautiful girls are found in Imo State(in Orlu, & followed by Mbaise), while most handsome & smart guys are found in Imo State(in Mbano, & followed by Orlu). Research said so, not by me but collectively.

Well, finance is important in marriage. If you don't have the financial resources to sustain a marriage not wedding, then you have no business getting married or procreating.

Economics not emotions plays a major role in relationships of the opposite sex.

That said, bride prices should be banned. It makes the girl looks like a commodity. I'll reject such for my sister or daughter(s).

If igbo parents don't sell their daughters at high cost, how will they survive and pay off their accumulated debts? Don't forget that many of them already plan to get rich the moment any man asks for their daughters' hands in marriage. They will want to buy everything they have never been able to buy all their lives.

The entire thing should be scraped. Bride Price is like selling your daughter and the parties involved are simply businessmen. The ladies are the items. Such dehumanization. I am against backward cultures.
