Good evening guys, I have a question for the house pls.
Is there a way a student visa can be switched/converted to a residency after the duration of the course?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mostblackroad(m): 10:26pm On Aug 08, 2017
Hi guys mostblackroad here:

I had been out of town lately hence my online absence. My application got refused a few days. I am not entirely sure why because there was no correspondence letter attached. Even my ex-consular friend was a little surprised. I plan to apply for my gcms notes, defer my admission and reapply in a few months. However I would like to share my profile and hopefully I can get ideas and suggestions from everyone in the house:

I applied online in June. I got admitted to BSc. Commerce at MUN.

Documents I submitted:

1. Acceptance Letter
2. Passport Page and prior visa pages (5 UK Visas and 11 year travel history, valid USA and UK, South Africa visas)
3. Bank Statements from maternal uncle totalling 6.7m, also submitted attestation of age for him and my mother (my tuition and upkeep amount to 5m)
4. Affidavit of Support stating relationship (although I never mentioned about his dependants). Sponsor is based abroad.
5. CIC Forms
6. Upfront Medicals
*No SOP.

I got refused a US visa several years ago, about 5 years ago I believe. I actually forgot to state that in my application when I initially applied because it was such a while ago, but immediately I remembered I think the next day; I contacted a lawyer friend in Canada and he advised me to write CIC Ghana immediately and I did, explaining to the error in the application. They confirmed that they received the email and would attach it to my file. This was before I even did my biometrics.

I would also like to confirm if anyone has applied successfully from the United States or The UK? I plan on applying from there.

Sorry for the delay
Yes, first tinx first.
Request for ur gcms note.find out why your application was delayed.
D profile u shared is not well detailed ,couldn't get anything from it.
Did u pay ur tuition fee?.(not compulsory tho)
The course u chose and the previous course studied ,how relatable are dey.

If itz based on lack of funds..u didn't include how much ur tuition fee is .if itz upto 17k Cad considering u involved a third party, the sum should be higher .

It could also be based on travel history, since u said u ve been denied visa once but failed to state it but u later mailed dem and they acknowledged dey have gotten it..CIC tho
Request for your gcms notes .letz know wat happened

Nd please for your study permit apply in your home country.
I have seen a moniker here ( grin our sacrificial lamb) it was not successful..

Hello Everyone. Big ups to everybody contributing here and I'll really appreciate it if someone can help me with this problem. So I plan to start processing my travel and study soon but there is something that's been bothering me. I would like to work and possibly continue living after my studies in canada but I have a degree in psychology and I'm pursing an msc in the same course but apparently you have to have a PhD to practice psychology which means I most likely won't b able to secure a job after graduation. I would pursue PhD also but I only have funds enough to sponsor msc and would like to start working asap. My other alternative is to pursue a pgd in human resources management but I heard pgd don't get visas approved and also that lambton college is 27k c. a.d Anybody in canada that has any pointers would really b helpful. Thanks

I really don't know. Personally it didn't sound right to me also but I've heard too many people complain about pgds. Everything is speculation though.
