1. African Academy Movie Awards:

Popularly known as AMAA, this award was pioneered by Peace Anyiam Osigwe in 2005 and serves to recognize stakeholders in the film industry,

both in Nigeria and the rest of Africa. It is the African version of Hollywood Oscar’s. The award venue has always been in Nigeria, except once when

it was held out of the country. The last edition, the twelfth was held in Lagos and saw the attendance of both politicians, directors and actors,

journalists. Notable was the presence of the deputy governor of Lagos: Idiat Adebule.

2. Nigerian Integrity Film Awards
Also known as Homevida, this award is used to encourage young upcoming film makers and script writers who use their film to promote values

and influence the general public with the message they pass across.

3. Nollywood African film critics awards:
This awards which takes place in the U.S recognizes achievements by film stakeholders in Africa. The maiden edition of the award was in

September 17, 2011 and it commonly referred to as NAFCA.
