The United States is considering adopting trade sanctions to push China to enforce intellectual property more strictly, the Wall Street Journal said on Tuesday.
The administration "thinks of invoking a little-used provision of US business law to launch an investigation to determine whether China's intellectual property policies are not" unfair commercial practices "," the paper writes an Economic report on its website citing sources close to the file.
In particular, Washington would like Beijing to chastise intellectual property theft more severely and to ease the high-technology transfer burden on US companies wishing to enter the Chinese market.
