CORONAVIRUS IMMUNITY: Can A Person Get Reinfected By COVID-19?

01/8 Can a person get reinfected by COVID-19?

Fighting novel coronavirus can be alonger battle than anyone thought. So, when patients walk into medical centres complaining of COVID symptoms post recovery, it could mean potential worries.
While it can be normal for patients to suffer from some of the symptoms until weeks after defeating the virus, reinfection is still a question which hasn't been answered until now. Globally, there have been some reported cases of people developing COVID-19 for the second time even after making a successful recovery from the same. So, it does leave some questions which need to be answered.

02/8 Is reinfection possible? Can a person catch COVID-19 more than once?

Scientists till now, have stressed that re-infection should not be possible since a person gains enough antibodies to prevent a repeated attack. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, in its latest advisory also said that there is no evidence which is suggestive of the same. They also added that while there is no surety as to how could a person be immune to reinfection and for the sizeable cases of reinfection which exist, investigative studies might be required.

03/8 What happens when you recover from coronavirus for the first time?

The way our bodies learn to fight a disease is by remembering the genetic make-up of the existing virus. Post battling a viral infection, a person gains antibodies which help the immune system remember the first attack and prepare itself for any sort of future attacks. Thus, the body would be in a better state to fight the infection.

04/8 Why does reinfection happen then?

Even though there exists only little clinical evidence about people catching COVID-19 again, scientists suggest that there can be multiple meanings of what reinfection could mean, making us understand as to why this could happen
A probable reason for this could be the fact that once a person recovers from the infection, the viral load in the body depletes. In some cases, a recovered patient could go on to have low levels of virus in the body and hence, make them prone to show symptoms and get reinfected.
The viral load could persist in the body for up to three months time, which is the duration which most people who get reinfected were diagnosed with. However, scientists believe that a positive diagnosis for the second time, post complete recovery is not a case of reinfection but virus shedding due to leftover traces of virus left in the body.

05/8 Virus can continue to linger in the body post recovery

It could also so happen that some people get infected more than once because the novel coronavirus stays dormant in their body until it reemerges.
Experts are also pointing out to a remote possibility that since COVID-19 has symptoms similar to that of other respiratory illnesses, a person who gets infected again might be suffering from another viral disease- and mistaking it for COVID-19.
A recent CDC advisory issued also concurred the same: “Recovered persons can continue to shed detectable SARS-CoV-2 RNA in upper respiratory specimens for up to three months after illness onset, albeit at concentrations considerably lower than during illness, in ranges where replication-competent virus (those that can replicate and spread) has not been reliably recovered and infectiousness is unlikely. The etiology (cause of the disease) of this persistently detectable SARS-CoV-2 RNA has yet to be determined,”

06/8 Can transmission still happen?

One of the biggest risk factors with COVID-19 is the rapid rate with which the infection could spread from contagious carriers. If reinfection or viral load still persists, it only raises fears of further transmission and COVID spread. However, scientists have been quick to confirm that even though patients can have a low or moderate viral load in their bodies weeks after recovery, transmission risk is fairly low or even rare. Studies conducted so far have not proven the same.

07/8 How long do antibodies stay for?

Over the past month or two, researchers sampled data to observe the prevalence of antibodies. While it is true that a person can gain antibodies post infection, the time for which it may last may be difficult to fix. One study done in the USA seemed to note that in COVID infected individuals, antibodies will peak at about 20 to 30 days after symptom onset, and then they decline, which could explain as to why certain individuals could be repeatedly diagnosed with COVID-19.

08/8 Milder COVID infections may offer lasting immunity as well

Interestingly, the presence of antibodies and the time for which it lasts may also have something to do with the type of infection you have in the first place-mild, moderate or severe. While until now it was seen that mild coronavirus cases may not guarantee much immunity to patients, newer studies have proved that even with milder forms of infection, people can get lasting immunity, since the infection could trigger T-cell levels in the immune system and provide protection for a longer duration.

SUNFLOWER SEEDS: NUTRITIONAL & HEALTH BENEFITS

Sunflower seeds are popular health foods that people commonly consume in trail mix, breakfast cereals, or straight from the bag as a snack. They contain beneficial nutrients, including healthy fats, minerals, and antioxidant compounds..

Health benefits

Including sunflower seeds in the diet can offer health benefits.

- Anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial

- Cardioprotective and anti-tumor effects

- Antidiabetic and cholesterol-lowering effects

- Healthy skin and bones

Sunflower seeds contain omega-6 fatty acids, which people require for healthy skin.

Research indicates that essential fatty acid deficiency significantly affects skin function and appearance. With this in mind, including sources of essential fatty acids in the diet may help prevent skin conditions, such as dermatitis, and reduce the effects of aging on the skin.

Sunflower seeds also contain zinc, an essential mineral for skin health, and minerals, including magnesium, calcium, and phosphorous for healthy bones.

Our sea salt is natural, unrefined and unbleached. It contains over 80 trace minerals and water which are easily absorbable by the body. Some of these minerals are sodium (maintains the water portion of the blood), potassium (helps the kidneys to filter blood & regulates the heart beat), calcium (bones, teeth, muscle contractions and blood clotting), manganese (normal function of the brain and nerves), magnesium (energy production and nutrient metabolism), chlorine (natural disinfectant), zinc (boost the immune system, breakdown of carbohydrates, cell growth), iodine (kills bacteria, fungi, functionality of the thyroid), phosphorus (teeth and bones) etc. Its the healthiest salt that is good for cooking, exfoliating, bathing, toothache. Soak your feet in sea salt warm solution to relieve stress, soothe your tired nerves, absorption of the trace minerals. This salt normalises blood pressure with regular consumption. How? When blood pressure is high, this sea salt drops it and when blood pressure is low, sea salt boosts it. This is a super item that should always be available in our homes. 500gram is . We also do unbranded for wholesalers.

FACTORS THAT DETERMINES BUM SIZE

While you can see the bum on some ladies and you, as a lady will wish you were that endowed, there are factors that may impede your bum from growing that big. Let us see some of them.

Genetics

one of the major determinants of any growth extent in a human is the genetics. Some individuals are blessed with good genes that help them burn fat easily, have fat deposits in the right places, while some have to strive extra hard to come close to the perfection they seek.

Most ladies endowed with big bums are gifted by nature, through genetics, to have immense fat deposits in the panniculus adiposus, as it is very well developed in the bum area.

Exercising

For the two groups of ladies – naturally gifted and acquired – in the big bum department, exercising is important. The panniculus adiposus is susceptible to sagging, therefore it needs the support of the gluteus muscle group, to hold it up and firm.

Ladies who exercise relentlessly to have big bum do so by tearing the muscles of the glute, which when healed, becomes bigger and stronger. Exercises such as squats, leg press, lunges, and deadlifts, help to stretch and work the glute muscles.

With this factor, consistency is the key.

Diet

Arguably, the second most important factor that determines the size of your bum. It affects how well rounded the bum is by providing nutrient – fats – to the panniculus adiposus and nourishing the gluteal muscles to help them heal faster and get bigger on healing.

The African diet for a bigger bum majorly comprises of Nigerian foods rich in healthy fats, proteins, and complex carbs. In addition, you can throw in some fruits and vegetables to help with digestion and metabolism.

10 African Foods That Makes Your Bum Bigger

Since one of the ways to achieve your goal of having a bigger bum is through diet, let us see some of the foods these African ladies eat that support their genes to give them the bum they flaunt. Before that, let us understand how these foods can affect the bum size.

The panniculus adiposus is a subcutaneous fat storage layer that gives the bum its natural curve and size. The more fat stored in this fat layer, the bigger and rounder the bum is. It also spreads to the thighs and may lead to the formation of cellulites under the skin, something you might not want, but you can be rid of. The best foods that help in fat deposition in this fat layer are proteins, complex carbs, and healthy fats.

Now, let us see the African foods for bigger bums.

Meats

Meats are rich sources of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. This is what makes them aptly suitable for your bigger bum plan. Although different meats – chicken, turkey, chevon, and beef – have different caloric and nutrient values, no one counts them in Africa, you just eat and be filled.

If you are concerned about the amount of fats that may accompany the different meats into your body, you can choose to boil them with garlic, remove the skin off the turkey and chicken, and use good vegetable oil when frying.

You can also have these meats, or a specific one in a dish called pepper soup. This soup usually carries a prefix, depending on the type of meat used in preparing it; goat meat pepper soup, beef pepper soup, and so on. it is usually hot and spicy.

Soy products

Soy beans and its derivatives, soy cakes and soy milk, are excellent sources of proteins and fats. They also contain some fats that are stored in the adipose tissues, like the one that is around the bum.

Soy and its products are known to increase the production of the hormone, oestrogen in people who consistently consume it. This property helps it distribute fats to the right places as women are known to have more panniculus adiposus presence around the thighs, bum, and breasts.

Fish

Fish is a healthy source of fat and oil. Regardless of the type you are used to, it provides all nutrients in different quantities and helps to improve the storage of fats in the adipose tissue without causing health risks. The best fish to consume for this purpose, with great amount of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, include tilapia, catfish, salmon, mackerel, and many more.

In Africa, these fishes, especially catfishes, are used to prepare special soup dishes called catfish pepper soup or better still, point-and-kill. The fishes are killed on the spot and in their fresh state, used to make the spicy pepper soup.

Tilapia is a common accompaniment to the Ghanaian dish, Banku.

Rice

A staple in Africa, rice is a very popular food consumed by most households. It is made in different forms; jollof rice, coconut rice, fried rice, basmati rice, and so on. Rice is rich in carbohydrates and some protein. It is known to be so high in carbs that diabetic patients are advised to either cut down on or stop its consumption.

If you are bothered about the glycemic index and will like to consume something more health-friendly to you, you can consider Ofada rice and brown rice. They are excellent substitutes for white rice and will still aid in your quest for a bigger bum.

Banga Soup

One of the most popular soup of the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria, Banga Soup is a delicacy that is usually accompanied with starch. Sometimes, okra might be added to the soup, without leaving out beef, fish, Beletete leaves, banga spice, palm fruit, and so on.

With the assortment of ingredients, it provides a lot of calories as contained in the protein, carbohydrates, and fats sources contained in the soup. You can call it a concentrate of nutrients and you won’t be wrong.

Waakye

Waakye is a dish from Ghana that is made from rice and beans. It contains a rich amount of proteins and carbohydrate, which when in excess is stored in the adipose tissues of the body, including the bum, giving it a bigger and curvier outlook.

Waakye is usually served with side dishes such as fried plantain, avocado, spaghetti, or even garri.

Banku

Banku has received global recognition with its mentions in prominent international artistes’ songs. It is made from fermented corn and cassava, mixed into a dough. It is prepared with lots of hot pepper, onions, and tomatoes and is usually accompanied by grilled tilapia.

Corn and cassava are rich sources of carbs, they provide more than you can use. However, their caloric supply is complemented by tilapia, which provide proteins, giving your body a range of nutrients to use.

Melktert

This is a South African dish that is made of flour, milk, sugar, and eggs. It is usually finished off with cinnamon dusts and is a popular desert in South Africa.

This dish is dense in carbs, proteins, and fats due to the use of milk and eggs. The combination of ingredients will ensure your adipose tissue has enough fats to store, consequently giving you a bigger bum over time.

Boerewors

Boerewors are traditional South African sausages that comprise of beef, pork, and sometimes, lamb. It is usually barbecued and has a mixture of spices to go with it in its coiled shape. Due to the use of different meats, it is a protein dense dish that will do wonders to your bum.

Madesu

One of Congo’s popular dishes, Madesu is essentially a beans stew that is commonly eaten across Africa. In some parts of the continent, the beans stew is eaten with bread or fried fermented cassava, called garri. Some individuals prefer it with yam, and some, with potatoes.

Whatever you choose to eat the beans stew, Madesu with, it is tasty, and provides nutrients that are so dense, you may not eat any other food for the rest of the day.

*WHAT GARDEN EGG LEAVES CAN DO FOR YOU!*

1. Cleanses the kidney
Garden egg leaf aid naturally in cleansing your kidney by filtering the blood and eradicating unwanted materials from getting into your system. They are more effective when consumed raw.

2. Improves eye vision
The cream-color flesh of garden egg has a pleasantly bitter taste and this is due to the presence of small amounts of nicotinoid alkaloids it contains.

Its spongy consistency helps to protect from poor vision caused by glaucoma as well as improving overall vision.

3. Fights cancer
Studies have shown that Polyphenols in eggplant have anti-cancer effects. The anthocyanins and chlorogenic acid that are contained in garden eggs help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals thus preventing tumor growth and the spread of cancer cells.

It was also shown that the anticancer action of anthocyanins appears to include preventing new blood vessels from forming in the tumor, reducing inflammation, and blocking the enzymes that help cancer cells to spread.

5. Serves as a blood tonic
Garden egg leaves serve as a blood tonic for people suffering from a shortage of blood or are anaemic. To get this benefit, it is advisable that one gets the fresh leaves, washes in neat cold water, slice and eat it raw.

6. Good for pregnant women

SURPRISING BENEFITS OF CLOVES

1. Cloves can help regulate your hunger levels.
Cloves are kind of magic because they can play a role in keeping your stomach from growling between meals. For a spice, cloves have an impressive amount of fiber—a nutrient that can help regulate your hunger levels. One teaspoon of cloves alone provides close to a gram of fiber.

2. Cloves can keep your blood sugar levels in check.
Anyone who’s watching their blood-sugar levels will be happy to know one great strategy for keeping things in order is to simply add cloves into their meals. Cloves provide manganese, a mineral that can help regulate blood sugar levels.

3. Cloves have antibacterial properties.
Sure, chemical-free mouthwash (and fruit and green tea) is a great way to improve your oral hygiene—but it might work even better with the addition of cloves. Clove oil has been investigated as an antibacterial agent, per preliminary research. Gorin says. In one study, a mouth rinse containing clove, basil, and tea tree oil was found to help fight plaque and bacteria in the mouth. That’s also why you’ll find clove oil in plenty of popular toothpastes.

4. Cloves may alleviate tooth pain.
One of the most notable potential pain-relieving benefits of cloves is their ability to help with toothaches due to the eugenol they contain, which acts as a natural antiseptic. In fact, one study found they work better at relieving pain, inflammation, wound healing, and infection than another common option.

5. Cloves may help with inflammation.
Cloves are known for their anti-inflammatory effects. Past studies have shown eating them on the daily could lead to major major benefits, and experts specifically recommend them for helping with arthritis. Using clove oil as a lotion or adding cloves into tea may also help combat the inflammation.

6. Cloves can help protect against aging.
Cloves are also high in antioxidants, which can help protect your body against the signs of aging. “The anti-inflammatory properties, epigenetic cues, and mitochondrial activity found in antioxidant-rich foods contribute to longevity and vitality. Sprinkling cloves into smoothies, rice dishes, or desserts is an easy way to boost your antioxidant consumption.

7. Cloves can be used as a cough suppressant.
If you feel a cough coming on, reach for some cloves. In Ayurvedic medicine, cloves are also used to suppress a cough by relaxing the throat muscles. To do so, she recommends chewing on the cloves directly (but don’t swallow them). You can also brew them into a tea and serve with honey. Pro tip: Poon suggests adding manuka honey for added antibacterial and antiviral benefits.

8. Cloves can work as insect repellent.
If you’re an insect magnet (as in, you’re prone to getting bug bites), you’ll definitely want to keep cloves handy because insects such as mosquitoes, ants, and wasps hate cloves. “Researchers have found that a compound in cloves [called] eugenol is an effective agent for killing insects and larvae,. A spray bottle of diluted clove oil might serve as an effective natural pest control for your home.

9. Cloves may support skin health.
Cloves as skincare? Yes, it’s true. Topical applications of clove oil may support skin health too. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, clove oil is a promising solution for relieving inflammation in the skin. Cloves also possess antibacterial properties, which can make it useful for treating acne caused by bacteria. Just remember to test the oil on a small patch of skin first to ensure it doesn’t cause a reaction.

10. Cloves help heal digestive discomfort.
Using cloves to ease digestive problems is a common practice in Ayurvedic medicine. “Cloves are said to relax the stomach lining and are used to relieve nausea, gas, and vomiting. To reap the benefits, Poon recommends brewing a tea with cloves and ginger. Then sip and enjoy.

Diet and HPV – Foods to Eat and Foods to Avoid

In the past few years, many people started noticing the effects of the food they eat and how it impacts their health. Luckily, the mere fact that you are reading this article is a good sign that you have a great health consciousness. It also means you are on the right track to reversing HPV.

Don’t get us wrong, however. There is not one particular food that would heal your HPV or prevent it. It is more about supplying the body with essential nutrients to keep it fighting your HPV and strengthening your immune system.

The relationship between food sensitivities and HPV
Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, is ubiquitous and impossible to escape. It has most likely already touched your life or that of your loved ones. Just like other viruses, HPV is always present in our normal flora; however, we only get this disease if we are susceptible.

This is why HPV affects people in different ways. Some will always get sick, whereas others rarely experience any symptoms.

Researchers identified some foods that may interfere with the inflammatory response and promote leaky gut syndrome. As a result, the immune system gets compromised, increasing your chances of falling victim to these viruses.

By far, the top foods that promote allergies and immune dysfunction include gluten, milk, and eggs.

Ideally, you would start by creating your own food sensitivity panel. This will help you identify your body’s response to different allergens. It can easily be done with a finger prick at home. As soon as you get the results, you will have a comprehensive understanding of which foods to exclude from your diet.

Besides triggering food allergies, there are a few food elements that suppress your immune system and consider what HPV supplements to take. The next section will cover some of these foods.

Top Foods to Avoid if You Have HPV

1. Gluten
Gluten is a common source of allergies for millions of people around the world. Aside from the famous Celiac disease, around 25% of people have some degree of sensitivity to gluten.

Studies show that gluten triggers inflammation as well as leaky gut syndrome. This could happen in people without Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. It only shows that our adult bodies are not designed to digest gluten (just like lactose).

There is even some evidence that up to 95% of patients with HPV have mild gluten intolerance. While this remains a correlation (not causation), it is still enough reason to cut gluten from your diet. Some patients noticed great clinical improvement when they stopped eating gluten-rich foods.

2. Sugar
High sugar intake is associated with insulin spikes, which can hinder the function of your immune system. This is why diabetics have a higher chance of catching bacterial and viral infections.

While the exact mechanisms that lead to immune suppression are still under debate, the evidence is simply irrefutable. Note that we are talking about refined sugars (not fruits and honey).

Let’s take a practical example:

You have a 6-hour flight, and you arrive at the airport hungry. You order cinnamon sugar pretzels with a sugar-laden coffee creation. As a result, your blood sugar spikes very rapidly. At the same time, your immunity is suboptimal at best. Once you’re on the plane, you get in contact with hundreds of people. Chances are you are more suceptable to catching something while your immunity is low.

The tricky part is – It’s really difficult to cut out sugar from your diet. Whether it’s a sauce, drink, condiment, or others, sugar will always find a way to your stomach. However, you don’t need to stop taking sugar altogether. In fact, we don’t recommend that you do. Eliminating 80% of your sugar intake should be enough to see some great results.

When it’s about HPV, the more sugar you consume, the higher the chances of a positive pap smear test. This shows that sugar promotes the development of abnormal cells inside your cervical canal.

3. How you eat your food
The third item on our list is not really about the type of food you eat. Instead, it is about the way you are doing it. For instance, skipping meals and then eating copious dinners lead to greater blood sugar fluctuations. As we mentioned above, this compromises the function of your immune system, leaving your cells prone to viral infections.

This is why you should eat a balanced diet at regular times. Note that eating the right way will help you with mood swings, hormone imbalance, lack of focus, and other symptoms.

Plant-Based vs. Animal-Based Diets to treat HPV
Some people swear by the planted-based diet when it comes to treating HPV. However, this is only partially true. To function properly, the body needs amino acids, carbs, and fats, alongside vitamins and minerals.

Cutting out a major macronutrient from your diet will inevitably lead to negative consequences. You need vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and some sources of antioxidants. Animal foods also help with supplying you with B vitamins, which are necessary for immune function.

For this reason, we recommend that you eat a balanced diet that contains animal and plant nutrients.

After covering a list of foods to avoid, it’s time for the nutrients that help your body fight HPV.

Foods & Nutrients to Eat if you have HPV
Supplying your immune system with the right nutrients is the single best thing you can do to fight HPV. Seek a diet that contains different HPV vitamins, amino acids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids.
