custom roms are more stable than outdated os . as they are updated more frequently thanks to xda communities
what do you call an outdated OS You're wrong, a phone running android 4.4 can be more stable than one on android 7. it's a combination of numerous factors, not just the OS version.

android phones have a life span , after which they no longer get updates or security patches . if a phone is in this state can u call it stable with all the bugs around ?
