Venezuela’s new constituent Assembly has dismissed one of the most powerful critics of President Nicolás Maduro, Luisa Ortega, freezing her assets and banning her from leaving the country. Ortega who was sacked on Saturday, August 8, 2017 by the new constituent Assembly, said she was stopped from entering her Public Ministry by government forces who shoved her and impeded her entry using their shields.
