Following the sanctions imposed by the senate on North Korea along with Russia and Iran. The North Korea Government have reacted by threatened to launch “thousands-fold” revenge against the United States, after the United Nations imposed new sanctions on Pyongyang for its nuclear and missile programs.

The response from the North korea spokes person came after the unanimous decision carried out by the U.N. Security Council in approving tough new U.S.-drafted sanctions Saturday, part of the sanctions included a ban on coal and other exports worth over $1 billion.

“We are ready to retaliate with far bigger actions to make the U.S. pay a price for its crime against our country and people,” Pyongyang stated via the official Korean Central News Agency.

It is no longer a secret that North Korea’s missile arsenal has progressed over the last decades from state-of-the-art military hardware designs to testing. On 4 July 2017, North Korea successfully conducted its first test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), named Hwasong-14, this was despite warnings issued to them by the United State.

The North Koreans have launched more than a dozen test missiles this year alone, they raised concerns last month when Pyongyang test-fired two intercontinental ballistic missiles which some analysts said were capable of reaching the U.S. mainland.

Kim Jong-un the supreme leader of the DPRK, a position he inherited from his father Kim Il-sung who passed away in 2011 has been known for his strive in building ballistic missiles, one never seen before since the founding of the DPRK by Kim Il-sung.

The self-reliant socialist nation has an army force of over 1.20 million and is regarded as the fourth largest in the world, only after China, the United States, and India. With the hard approach adopted by the Trump administration and Kim Jong-un, analyst fear the worst may happen if steps are not taken.
