I know of copas serving presently and saving for life after nysc. Don't get me wrong. The federal govt have so many important things to tackle than nysc alawee increment. The copas won't win this battle. Dey should just finish the 1 year and moveon with their lives. Increament of salary isn't what Nigerians should be fighting for. It is stability of the economy that we all need. Ok if federal govt increase the salary and this dollar rate eventually drop. Will copas accept a reduction of salary ? They shouldn't just distrup so many copas plans. Some just need d certificate and venture into better things. Even if dey go on strike , don't forget npower people can be deployed to coverup for them. I just feel the nysc programme should be scrapped

The National Youth Service Corps members (NYSC) have issued out a warning strike starting from 1st September to 14th September, 2017.

This is to implore the Federal Government of Nigeria to keep to it promise of increasing the Corp members allowance (Allawee) from N19,800 to N49,800, starting from August 2017.

It was agreed during National Corpers Forum meeting held in Abuja, that if at the end of August, Corper’s allowance is not increased to N49,800, NYSC will embark on a two week warning strike.

During this period Corps members nationwide will adhere strictly to the following:

“ 1) That Corps members nationwide will not go near their PPA or carry out their primary assignment in any form.

2) That all CDS activities will be suspended indefinitely.

3) That Corps members will not put on their khaki or anything relating to NYSC kits.

4) That Corpers will no longer hid to the Clarion call.

Corps members nationwide are advice to adhere strictly to this information and share it across until it get to the right table.

and even if there is any, are they the decision making body for the serving corps members?
I know the 3 major organisations for corps members are NCCF, MCAN, and Catholic (the 3 of them are religious groups).

The chance of this pulling through, is dependent on if the bill was signed by the FG. If it was not, no amount of placards will earn them more money. Simple.

NYSC want to create opportunity for government to scra - - (pls fill in d missing space) its programme. Remembered the issue was raised. This is an avenue about dishing out to our so-called leaders.

Obviously the corp members need to be reschooled. NYSC is a paramilitary organisation and not a trade union nor civil organisation! If they knew this, they won't be talking of strike action or anything as such. There are better ways to press home their demands. Their places of PPA will definitely give them this sack if they fail to work. They better think twice and continue to "hid" the clarion call.
