Isaac Oyewunmi, the chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Lagos State university chapter, says the union would not allow the university educational system be killed by government.

Oyewunmi said this in a telephone interview with channels TV sunrise daily, yesterday.

He also said the government budgeting six percent for education expenditures in the country’s budget is shameful.

According to him, “the items listed in the agreement, must be provided before we go back. The theatrics of the government need to stop, this is 2017” he said.

“we will not join in the politics to kill our universities, just as we watched why the ruling class killed the public primary and secondary schools. We won’t allow the university system go this same wrong path”.

“It is a shame that we have six percent of our annual budget expenditures for education, while more than 12 percent lunch, so it is a shame. The Nigerian University system is dying and we need to revive it”.
