The love for the game by Nigerians reaches fever pitch has Manchester City fans launch their own Pidgin account. The account @CityPidgin follows in the footsteps of popular Premier League sides like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea who have a huge following in Nigeria and whose fans in previous months have opened respective twitter accounts talking about their beloved club and making fun of the others.

The @CityPidgin account was only launched a few days ago but has already gotten more than 100 followers and is looking for tens of thousands of followers as the season progresses.

Unarguably, Manchester City aren’t privileged to have millions of fans in pidgin speaking countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroun, Ivory Coast etc like their established counterparts in the league, but we are in for an exciting Premier League of banter in Nigeria as the Premier League sides in Nigeria with huge following can now boast of having respective fan run pidgin accounts.
