BREAKING: Facebook is down Published August 26, 2017 Facebook on Saturday went down with thousands of users reporting they cannot access the popular social media site . Some users were told the website was undergoing “required maintenance” on Saturday afternoon as they attempted to log in . When Saturday PUNCH tried posting on its Facebook Page, the platform informed our reporter that “There was a problem updating your status . Please try again in a few minutes. According to UK ’ s Independent , Down Detector, a website that tracks internet outages , reported a large spike in users being unable to access Facebook at about 2 pm . Most users reported a “total blackout ”, meaning the site would not load , or that they were unable to log in to their accounts. I also released that while trying to log in on my Tecno Spark device. Glad to know it's not only me. |

I tried accessing my account only to discover I was automatically logged out, had to fill in my details again before I could access it |
