Does anyone know someone who can genuinely fix my throttle problem ? It is a Kia Sorento 2008 and the scan brings out error P2138 . Google tells me it is related to the "Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch D/E Voltage Correlation". However I am advised just changing the item may not be advisable as the problem may only be with the wires for entire throttle system. Anyone who is sufficiently technical savvy and won't take an arm and a leg? I am based in Ibadan.

Diagnosis done again and readings for throttle pedal appear to be ok , yet the car has no acceleration. Rev counter remains below the 3 mark. Your man Timilehin, thinks it may be the brain box, which is of course a sealed unit. Do you think we are on the right track ? I would hate to throw even more money away chasing the wrong solution. Thanks for your help.

My further research assures me this is a typical Sorento problem which comes out of box and may have nothing to do with brainbox. I was hoping for a mechanic who knows about Kia vehicles.

- Kia says the rev is not supposed to exceed 3000rpm while at standstill which is a preventive measure to avoid overrevving. This checks , so brainbox seems working fine. Since it is also sluggish while moving :
- The next culprit to check should be MAF sensor. Check Air Flow Sensor, the engine could be starved of air.
- Also next check fuel pressure . It must be 46 to 48 psi . If less, then the fuel pump needs changing.

I will have someone do these.
