How important is it... I noticed a car without it and the owner still travels with it

*facepalm*
well, if the manufacturer put that long thing there, then its important. you want to lose control of the car at speed when taking a bend and kill uaself or others? I guess ur answer is no. so fix it. it could be cheaper than the price gazzuzz quoted. meanwhile what broke it?
Re: From My Toyota Camry, What Is This Part Called by rudepen(m): 8:56pm On Sep 03, 2017
it looks like a stabilizer rod, well unless u wanna keep changing your shocks often i advise u fix it. and then it should be that expensive to fix

Sway bar link. Are you telling me you do not hear unpleasant sounds on suspension parts of your ride?

That is not a sway bar link but the actual sway bar.

reasons why swaybars break in Nigeria.

1. Bad roads.

2. Wrong sway bar links installed

3. Rust on the swaybar its self.

4. Height modifications on struts.

5. Excessive play on swaybar bushings.

5.5 Village people.

Changed this on my 2001 camry twice already. Though in the space of three years. As am typing this it is already broken again (two weeks back) the car is still being used till next planned total repair and servicing in two months time.

Make sure you get appropriate fit. Also make sure your suspension parts are okay

without that stabilizer linkage, car will sway way off and might lose balance when running speed at a sharp bend. although I've seen lots of vehicles without it, I wouldn't delete it on my vehicle. car would still ride fine and most times without noises. actually drove a muscle with and without it sometime in 2015 the difference was too too too clear. didn't make much of a difference in a 2.2 I later drove without it, or maybe I didn't push it as hard as It required to make the diff.

@my boss egunmogaji, I hail thee, good evening sir

Wa sere, eyan mi.

See, some people are mere drivers of motor cars while others are connoisseurs of the automotive experience.

In certain types of racing, you will indeed disconnect your sway bars. Even off road, you will disconnect your sway bars because you do indeed want your vehicle to sway as you go over terrain.

For my style of driving, street, I usually upgrade my sway bars and other suspension bits.

I have a high-performance tubular sway bar ready to mount on Kurupe but I haven't had the time. I also have adjustable control arms to go with it too.

exactly my point, it's not a life threatening, death or life car situation. some people prefer it and some don't. as for me, I'm that guy that everything must be there even if I don't really see the need..... if it's. not there and something entirely different and not related happens, I just can't help but blame the omission..... thanks sir,

Very wrong.

Uneven tyre wear has nothing to do with the sway bar.
