Too bad. In Nigeria if the problem doesn't persist to the extent of causing loss of lives, nothing is done about it.

This one now is Double wahala for the people due to incompetent roads.

When Fashola penned a 20billion extra for contingency plans in his budget, kids and your fellow uncultured and unlearned lawbreakers around here were running their mouth needlessly saying he was corrupt and they were out to steal the money.

I guess you lots didn't know those funds is what is used to fix unforeseen damages and emergency repairs like this. I hope a senator from Benue can release money from his pocket to fix this.

When you fail to plan...using "God would not allow it happen to us" mantra. You already failed.

Don't ever use any state in Nigeria to compare another please. They are the same

Wow, and some poor folks even ran into it already? Too bad!!

Some might argue that this was an "unforseen act of God" but we put too much on God and imaginary devils in this country while the real satanic sadists are the polithiefcians with their sabotage-type leadership that sows desperation, frustration, unpatriotism and vice into the gene pool till you can no longer any average Nigerian Joe!

The idea that Federal Road should be left to the purview of FERMA etc while State Guv's do loot away their allocations while waiting for Fed Govt to come-wipe-arss for them even when they poo is just wack. Nasarawa and the #WheelBarrow Mugu of Benue should take a cue from other States like Ogun, Lagos etc on the efficient Roads Management level and adopt modern templates instead of the archaic sadistic practice of simply leaving death traps all over your neighborhood till your clansmen start dying along with strangers on preventable causes.

As for the Benue being this hard hit. If Benue hadn't been stuck with series of brainless #WheelBarrow dealing Gubernatorial Mugus over the years, they would've done something about the various dam projects as well as drainage systems that'd ensure that roads are freer from the ravaging effect of poorly directly floods etc.

Larger parts of Benue lie along flood plains, they know that!

Benue lies on the direct path of the River Niger/Benue water ways and our MoU with Cameroon on Dams and waterways mngt for River Niger does not include endangering their own polity. Once the need for opening the dams reach a critical level, the safety imperative they would exercise would be to cover their own arss over there, especially when the appropriate heads-up have been relayed to our Govt here. We are supposed to take care of our own people. We were supposed to build Counterpart Dams, which like the failed Ajaokuta Steel Mill, got awarded for construction repeatedly but the funds ended up in politically-connected pot-bellies!

NIMET had released preliminary forecasts ahead of 2017 and it called for proactive actions towards doing the needful to ensure that all measures were to be put in place to prevent stuffs like this from happening or reduced to the barest minimum.

Ecological Fund Allocations were and are still being collected, diverted and mismanaged consistently by id1ot-Govs like the current #wheelbarrowF00l occupying Benue State house, another fact!

As much as folks would love to blame Buhari/GEJ etc, the fact remains that Federal Govt's infrastructure is configured to provide help for disasters like this provided the Political Will is there, while NEMA's doing the little they can post-Disaster wise, but what, pray tell, is the Benue State Emergency Mngt infrastructure configured to do? Why are there no working policies in place to prevent this disasters instead of contracts being given to political contacts to execute shoddily without thought for whether these roads will bear up under the pressure of whatever Nature throws at them?

It's just sad that Niger State too might play host to rain flood issues too soonest and the charade will go on and on. what a wack system!

Which federal government are you calling ?

The same road that the picture was uploaded here as a death trap even before vehicles started getting ditched in it.

The format is that....
They will work on it after one politician loses his life there..

Black people...black people...black people. Nnamdi Kanu is suffering, shouting, yelling, sacrificing himself to liberate you so that all these suffering will stop, but typical black people won't listen, instead they want to continue to suffer. I have written to Nnamdi Kanu...leave these black useless people alone, and go back to UK and relax with your family because they enjoy suffering and living in abject poverty. Useless black people. Let me tell yo something...NIGERIA WILL NEVER EVER CHANGE EVEN IF YOU GAVE HER $900 BILLION DOLLARS AND 100 MORE YEARS. I REPEAT...IT WILL NEVER CHANGE!
Absolute truth! Nigeria's continued existence is a crime against humanity yet the people are suffering from stockholm syndrome and they keep supporting the very kleptocrats that made life so miserable for them. This country is a disgrace, even other African countries have left it behind, very soon it would assume the toga of a 4th world country! Cursed Jungle!!!

The celebrities should rather campaign for the break up of the useless country than waste their hard earned money trying to sustain it while the politicians continue with their massive looting. Nigeria is a shame not only to Africa but the entire black race!
