US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said an emergency session of the Security Council today that "Enough is enough. War is never something the United States wants. We don't want it now. But our country's patience is not unlimited."
US ambassador explained further that the United States will circulate a draft resolution this week pushing further sanctions against North Korea.
Haley made the comments at the end of an emergency UN Security Council meeting during which members condemned North Korea's latest missile test. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday called sanctions "useless, ineffective and exhausted".
China, the North's main ally, has called for a return to negotiations and Switzerland has offered to mediate.
