The Nigerian music industry is no doubt the biggest in Africa right now and it has come to my observation that album sales has been on the low for couple years now.

Few years ago, when the likes of MI,9ice,D'banj and a host of others came into the limelight everybody was anticipating for their albums and it was always pure fire, from them 2 face ,wande coal's M2M,dagrin's CEO and so on..

I realized this 2 years back, albums sales and even album contents had been on the low,so many artistes dropped albums but after they promote it on IG for a week or so it's all gone, the album sales are low and the contend are even worse..

Some of these artiste are at the top of their game when they dropped the albums but the albums are not just not enough,
Reekado banks,Mr Eazi,Skales,Falz and so many others fall under this category,I'm not saying this guys are not making good music but it seems they do well dropping singles than making a whole album lit.

Thanks to guys like Kiss Daniel,Wizkid,Ycee and few others who made their albums fire

I'm not criticizing anybody's work but just making an observation..what do y'all think?

Laziness is creeping in in the music industry. It takes time and efforts to release an album than to release singles. A number of tracks make up an album but many of those musicians are looking for fame withoutc much efforts. That's what is responsible for the proliferation of singles nowadays.

Rappers tend to make great albums because they are lyricist unlike secular artistes who depend on beats.
