The Anambra North Grassroots Political Forum, ANGROPF, made up of all the political parties in the seven Local Government Areas of the region namely- Anambra East, Anambra West, Anyamelum, Oyi, Onitsha North, Onitsha South and Ogbaru, has unanimously, after series of meetings and consultations, chosen and appointed, Sir, Dr, Patrick Sule Nduka Ugbomah, Ogene of Oshimili as their Leader to advice, direct and Lead them
The Chairman of ANGROPF, Hon. Chinedu Okwuosa who read the seven point communiqué issued by the group said, ‘we came together irrespective of party affiliations and agreed that it is no longer business as usual where we are used and dumped by politicians immediately they get into office, where our youths are used as political thugs for quick gains and our women dumped at the background and so the need for a magnanimous Leader to help renegotiate our region and achieve our common objectives’
Ugbomah, an astute business man, a philanthropist, man of the masses, an advocate of peace, a simple yet ebullient and patriotic Nigerian in his acceptance speech, agreed to heed to the call of his people, to lead them in making the right political choices. He said, ‘Anambra North is the most backward zone in the state, but this time, with you people solidly behind me, we will demand a robust development of human capital, infrastructure, an affordable qualitative education, and reduction of youth unemployment ’.
With this turn of events, the people have hope for the rising sun.
The event was attended by over 2000 political activists in his home town Osamalla.
