But the P now is that am in finding it very difficult to make a choice at the moment, as i dont want to have any regrets whatsoever angry
On that note, i humbly request for your individual advice, the kind of advice you would give ur brother as to which course to choose...

BUT, you should know that btw the two, personally i prefer Physiotherapy.... but then am still confused ,as i dont really know the situation of physiotherapy practice in the country, financially and otherwise.

Hahaha. Lucky you,you are definitely one of those highly connected candidates cheesy. Both are good but have less job prospects in Nigeria's healthcare industryand if you were to have a third option,In my opinion,I would rather you go for pharmacy if you have the connection for admission in faculty of pharmacy's Pharm.D program

Hahaha. I appreciate your pleasant sense of humor. Thanks.
I didn't say pharmacy for the fun of it, if you really want to have interaction with patients, then pharmacy offers you more chances than those two.In the last job evaluation done around 2012 or so by during the Prof Lambo led ministry of health under Ex President Obasanjo regime, the panel to the amazement of all, discovered that about 90% of all patients who visit the hospital take pharmaceutical services and if you are now lucky to have a community pharmacy, you even have a greater opportunity to work with patients and public health.Let me give you an example,if you have head ache now,ask yourself sincerely, will you visit the hospital first or visit a community pharmacy? Now if you have an exam tomorrow and you have a toothache or joint pain, will you visit the dentist first for your toothache or the pharmacy and if it's joint pain, will you look for a physiotherapist? From my findings, admission into Pharmacy is equally more competitive than those two courses and the rigor of the study is more especially if you are not very good in your calculations(Maths and Physics) so the stake is higher for pharmacy and if you can get your longleg into their faculty,it is better.Dentistry and Physiotherapy are very good courses and rewarding especially if you want to practice outside Nigeria

Lol.. .i need to first laugh when I see things like this

I'll advice you to read about both courses very well, how they are being paid both home and abroad, seek advice from people who have studied/studying d courses and then follow ur heart.

Both courses are in uniben, I just pray u don't make a mistake and realize later when u ve landed in the wrong course.

BTW Uniben is starting P.ume tomorrow, how come u are making ur choice just now.. ..oh! Connection people, I almost forgot.

I'm not in the scientific or medical line but my question should help you arrive at an answer

How many Nigerians go to the dentist for tooth problem as opposed to drinking some herbs?
How many Nigerians have accidents, or one bone related injury yearly?

I know some people into traditional bone construction who charge a fair amount for consultation and treatment. Imagine how much their learned brothers will be making.

I'm a physiotherapy student in OAU ife,but to be honest dentistry has a slight advantage.its at par with medicine, you can become a surgeon that's why its called dentistry and dental surgery.its on same salary scale with medicine graduates.physiotherapy is cool too,you can easily get a job, since there are very few physios in the country.the pay is cool too,on par with pharmacy.

Go for Dentistry. Someone above already gave you the reason, again you must be very sound academically, else you would enter and get frustrated on the way, they write MB exams just like those in the field of Medicine, but if you know you can't cope, the latter is the right option, not like anyone is easy anyways.

We have three things here...

1. Gaining Admission

2. Surviving in school

3. Graduating

You have to put them all into consideration as to make the right choice, Of The above 3, Gaining admission is the simplest, I wish you all the best.

Go for Dentistry.if i have another opportunity now,i would go for dentistry instead of MLS.when you want to choose, look at their job description and ask yourself the one that will go with your Personality.know the one that has more opportunities within and OUTSIDE(we don't know what awaits us tomorrow).
In conclusion just follow your heart.

lol. You know nothing about dentistry, you have to be a student of dentistry or a dentist, your question should be BTW dentistry and medicine. Those are the two par courses. The problem with dentistry is with the study or setup. It damn expensive and more accumulating exam to right. But job everywhere. It has alot of unexplored area. Listen, money wise they collect what all medical doctors collect including there allowances. When it comes to establishment in private sector Tho expensive setup, very lucrative Patrice. Dentistry is the money of medicine. With 3 procedure a week you are a millionaire a month. You can't get more than this. Ask medical student that have dentistry in their school. Finish

The decision u make now as regards the course of your choice will go a long way to affect ur life, even though u haven't met any dentist or physiotherapist, you can do well to use your Wikipedia and check who a dentist is and same for physiotherapist. I believe u will get Useful information about who they are and what they do.

I don't want to choose for You, but one is sure better than the other, make research about the two without being biased and follow the one that you think is better, I pray you choose wisely.

BTW physiotherapy is a new course in uniben and I think 300level is the highest class they have.

This is really funny anyway. Physio and dentistry, u came to seek for advice, I thought is dentistry and medicine. Dentistry is one of d best medical course to study. Note: U will do all wat medics student do couple with ur dental courses.
U dont need anybody to tell u DAT u should choose Dentistry over any medical course.

Dentistry is like u studying medicine + specialization.
U do all medical courses except obs and gynea.

Even if u are to choose BTW medicine and dentistry, I will advice you to choose Dentistry.

A dentist is a specialize surgeon just like ur Opthalmologist, cardiologist e.t.c they study medicine then specialize. A dentist also study medicine and also specialise at the same time.

My brother don't don't think twice Dentistry is All the way.

and for the op, both courses are nice as i am in the medical sciences in uniben too. to the best of my knowledge i know physiotherapy has not gained much ground in the country as it is outside but it's very promising and a lot of people are delving into it, on the other hand dentistry is recognised both home and abroad and i know uniben admits very few of them (i think about 25, maybe more) but the duration and time of the course is long as well as demanding so you have to be well to do. my advice for the money and dentistry. ,

If your connection is 100% guaranteed then go for Dentistry(emphasis on 100% Legit) because Uniben don't take more than 25 dental students; note you will spend nothing less than 8years in Uniben, I don't think any Dentistry set has graduated below 8years for those without repeat and resit. Physiotherapy is also a nice course and has one of the most friendly HOD currently in college of medical sciences, their pionneer set are about entering 300level on resumption. But on a level playing ground I will advice you to go for Dentistry, home and abroad it is hotter than physiotherapy

The fact that it is at par with medicine...... is that the only real advantage it has over physio??
i'd love to know more...
because i dont really see much prospect in medicine itself, asides being able perform Surgery.

The truth is,dentistry is good with lots of specializations(just google them).physiotherapy is also good in its own right.but we all know there will always be hierachy and the higher you are in the ladder, the higher the pay and vice versa and dentistry is way higher than physiotherapy home and abroad.physiotherapy is not that recognized in Nigeria but dentistry is.

You don't see much prospects in Medicine really?.The best medical courses are Dentistry and Medicine."it is at par with medicine"holds a lot,you don't expect people to start breaking it down(google it,you are a student).physiotherapy is a nice course but when it comes to comparism, dentistry is way better.
