Lol bros this has nothing do to with school fees. If anything it would ensure that PG students working in that cluster don't pay school fees. The PhD student is also going to be paid about 13,000 USD.

Also, CU runs free postgraduate for students who got first class from any any African university in STEM only by David Oyedepo Foundation. You would only need to pay for accommodation or get it somewhere else in Ota.

Africa of course. Many Grant agencies don't see sense in funding a research work for developing countries in universities in developed countries so they look for African Universities that has the combination of brilliant faculty, the right research environment, Corporate governance and all. We've also done our part by creating specialised laboratories in CUCRID like Molecular lab 1(college) 2 & 3(research center) and then endow research chairs in that cluster so since 2011 we've been getting funding.

Can someone tell this OAU graduate, Pedagogue what 5 million USD amounts in Naira He is to busy trolling CU that he doesn't have time to do the Conversion. He has no problem with Hushpuppi and Sport news on Nairaland but wants to kill himself with heart attack because a university made it to front page. And pls stop citing NIH records of years ago that has been published, some of us actually know quite a thing about grants. I have also replied ur nonsense comment in blue since all u want is attention.

Do you know how much lecturers are paid in public universities compared to the ones in private universities?
How does that compare to the salaries that we pay LGA Councillors and other politicians that we elected/allowed to run or rather ruin our lives?
Have you compared facilities in both?
Always think properly before you make public comments.

I wonder if there are functioning research institutes in nigerian public institutions. Why would there be research institutes in the first place when they never pay salaries wetin dey suppose pay them in form of salaries and allowances being owed.

Government should start doing something right before there could be meaningful development in Nigeria

This is my problem with private Universities, especially Covenant University. They LIE every time! Unfortunately, many Nigerians fall for their propaganda.

@Statsocial, do you realise that the following Universities also have the same grant? These are:

1. University of Ibadan;

2. University of Jos; and

3. University of Lagos.

In fact, Covenant University got the lowest award. They have just 1 award from NIH, while UI has 7!!! See the breakdown of the Award and the attached evidence from the NIH Website.

Covenant University-$250,000
Institute of Human Virology, Abuja-$1,798,716
UI- $2,247,127
UNIJOS-$640,000
UNILAG-$641,000

Everything about Covenant University is propaganda. Do you know the number of grants that Federal Universities, especially UI, OAU, UNILAG, UNN & other Federal Universities receive every year? They don't need to make noise about them because they are not capitalists! CU desperately push out information in order to deceive the gullible public to part with their hard-earned money for low-quality religious education!

@Statsocial, please how did you arrive at #1.5 billion? Learn to keep your propaganda within the confines of Ota. Nairalanders are not your brainwashed students!

Lemme ask u something.. Is Unilorin a govt owned institution or not?? I always like to use Unilorin as an example not because I know much about d skool but becos I know enof to know dey also attract special foreign grants. What is d govt's problem with Universities concerning funds granted dem for research? It's always easy to blame how much dey earn but dats how much dey have always earned. Working for govt is becos of d high pay u get. We all know most ppl would jump ship from any private to a govt one but is it becos govt pays higher?? U shld b more worried about ur thinking
