*LASU Confers Honorary Doctorate Degree on Dr. Fayemi*

Lagos State University, Ojo will confer an Honorary Doctorate Degree on His Excellency Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, CON, Thursday the 22nd of June 2023.

The immediate past governor of Ekiti State will receive the award of Doctor of Letters
(Human Rights, National Integration and African Security Development)

The Award is in recognition of His Excellency's selfless service to humanity in the areas of protecting Human Rights, promoting National Integration and ensuring Africa is secure and developed.

The conferment will take place on the said date at the main campus of the University along Lagos-Badagry Expressway Ojo, Lagos. His Excellency Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, who doubles as the Visitor to the University, will be physically present at the ceremony.

2. Make aquaintance with the Vice Chancellor, Dean, Head of Department, or any high profile ranking member of the institution
3. Donate a surfeit amount to the department/institution with the aim of being honoured
4. The donation should be done in an area of your expertise or the likes
Viola! You would have a doctorate, even if you never attended primary school.

Sanwolu is honoring Fayemi and using LASU.
They care not whether it undermines the integrity and credibility of the university or whether it tarnishes the reputation of the university.
When you honor someone under investigation for corruption, how can you argue that you are not condoning or endorsing such behavior and how can you provide guidance to students and future generations? The student leaders have been reassured that corruption is acceptable.

I hope ASUU condemns this.
